Hi All... I used to lurk around here alot a few years back. Now I'm revisiting this site looking for a refresher.  Here's my story: I've gained and lost weight my entire life. It seems like it's a constant yo-yo. My highest I weighed 245 lbs, and then lost almost 100 lbs the NATURAL way.  I have now since gained back 60lbs in one year, and I'm topped the scales at 205 last week at a routine doctor's appointment. I was mortified!!! (I'm only 5 feet tall...) So I decided right then and there that it is time for me to get back on track. Get ME back, and get ME healthy.  I tried Orlistat (Alli) a month or so ago and it did NOTHING for me... actually, I GAINED weight!!! So after my doctor's appointment last week, I put myself on a pseudo-Medifast diet. I ordered the meals, and in the meantime I used REGULAR liquids in the place of the medifast liquids. Also, I mixed Slim-Quick powder with my water.  Let me tell you... I started my new eating plan at the beginning of this week, and so far I've lost 8 pounds!! YAY!! 8 pounds in one week, and my energy and overall well being is SKY high!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new routine and recommend it to anyone!!! Anyways, that's me and that's where I stand right now. I'm lookinf forward to connecting with all of you while we all go through this journey!!! YAY!

Hi, Glad you decided to join us.  I tell you, your doing the right thing nicking this in the bud right now before you gain back all of your weight that you've lost.  I remember getting on the scale daily and seeing my weight go back up.  I kept thinking...tomorrow...or Monday...I'll get back on track.  I had such a hard time realizing there is NEVER a good time to start!  The time to start for me was YESTERDAY! :)  Now I'm back up there in weight and regret it so much.  SO YAY FOR YOU!!  Good luck on the plan that you have chose.  Sounds like your enjoying it. :)

I agree... this week is WAY too late for me to be getting back into my routine. BUT -- better late than never.

I LOVE my plan... it works REALLY, REALLY well for me. I hope that everyone else out here can get on a plan that WORKS for them!

Dearie, tnx for going live with us!  all the perspectives in the world are what we need.  How tall are you?  I am 64" and my highest weight was about like yours - the last known hi for me was 230 about 20 some years ago.  I had lost 50# or so got down to like 170-205ish and stuck right there, yoyoing between that range pretty much.   Then a couple years ago, started creeping back up the scale - got up to 225! I freaked because ironicaly, I was more active than i'd been most of my adult life, had pretty good habits (not much fast food, sweets, etc) and W.T.F.??????  I was truly baffled at how this could be happening. That scale was not budging. I tried to get approved for lapband, my PCP whose opnion I trust said no. I then asked him to support me to go see a bariatric doc in town.  Now, I am using high protein bariatric foods, pretty much as you are. It's working. I love the portability, and this way especially during my work day, I always have something that is better than the crap that sits in the breakroom.  Welcome!!!!!!! Can't wait to to learn more about you.

Hi Neecee! I'm 5'0" - 5'1" depending on the weather, lol. But yeah, I completely understand the whole weight creeping back on thing.... one day I was wearing a size 6/8... then when I did the wash that weekend, they didn't fit! Then it seemed like in no time the 10/12's didn't fit... now I'm in a 14/16 and NOT HAPPY!!! Oh how my poor closet full of 6/8's are so lonely!!! They're just crying out for me to put them back on!

Give it time... that's what I'm doing.
