DID IT!

I joined the Y yesterday!  (You thought it was gonna be more exciting than that, didn't you?)   LOL One small step....now all I have to do is take advantage of their programs.  Spent some time browsing the aqua programs available and believe me...there's no excuse for not getting in my exercise!  They have a lap pool with at least 2 lanes open for water walking from 5:15AM-10:00PM.  Plus such fun sounding classes as "Silver Sneakers Silver Splash", "Stretch-n-Tone", "Water Fitness", "Arthritis Aquatics", etc....you get the gist. No excuses for this old girl with the aching knees and the heel spur (finally got an appt. with a podiatrist for 6/24).  So, even if I can't walk, I have no excuse for not getting in some activity.  Talk about irony though....felt kind of strange using my mother's handicap parking  to register at the Y yesterday.  I always wondered why they had handicap parking at the Y...now I know!! Well, been lousy on food choices for last couple of weeks and haven't even approached the scale so tomorrow it's back to South Beach and off to the Y!!  However, headed for the most wonderful brunch ever at a local restaurant this morning....treating my SO for his birthday tomorrow.  Then gonna make him a carrot cake to have at a celebration with family tonight.  (I do use whole wheat flour and applesauce instead of oil, though)  A last HURRAH!  Unfortunately, that has been my demise most of my life....those last HURRAH'S before the start of YET another weight loss strategy. I may (or may not) share what the scale says tomorrow morning.....but will definitely provide updates as the numbers decrease!  Wish me well, guys!

Yay! Take measurements, too. I gained three effin pounds the first month I did water aerobics. But I took my measurements and over the next six weeks, lost a very stubborn 3/4 inch off my waist and a little off my hips.  I adore swimming. my summer lcass starts up June 9th. It's 4 nights a week, but i will go 2.  I plan to also walk those night as the class starts at 6 pm, a bit late for me.
