Doctor's Appointment
Went to my doctor today. I love him. He is so encouraging and uplifting. He's also behind me 100% in how I am handling my weight loss. I couldn't ask for a better person.
Anyway, he praised me for doing so well. I've lost 12 pounds since my last visit a little over a month ago. He's happy with the progress I have made with my physical therapy for my back and knee and is not recommending anymore. He also read the PT's recommendation of a health club and poo-pooed it. He said I am doing great on my own and he sees no reason to waste $30 a month to do what I am already doing at home. He also said he wants to see me back every 3 months for tracking and encouragement purposes.
He makes me feel sooooo good about myself. He's awesome. I am one person that actually looks forward to going to the doctor. OMG! What a major change from when I went in January and was scared ****less, crying and wouldn't go without support from my hubby.
Life is good.

That's awesome! I've seen so many doctors over the past and actually had one tell me (in a cruel voice) "You just need to stop eating Big Macs." Needless to say, I left in tears and I'm sure I went to the closest restaurant that I could find! It's great that you found someone that is encouraging. I just caught a look at your tracker and I have about the same amount of weight to lose and I see you have already gotten rid of 50 lbs- Great job!
Disney, in reality I have much more to lose than 123#. I weigh 323 right now and should weigh 130-140# BUT I hav eset my goal right now at 250# which is what I weighed when I got married 20 years ago.
I discussed this goal with my dr yesterday and he seemed to be caught off guard but pleasantly so. He replied, " That is a VERY realistic and achievable goal. I'm glad to hear you haven't got your heart set on a number that will take so much longer to achieve with the higher possibility of get discouraged and giving up." It made me feel good that he was totally on board with that number even though it means I will still be WAY overweight.
I wish you all the luck girl. It is totally doable and together, we will all achieve our goals.

12 #???? !!!!!! that is awesome. A gym membership is for when the weather or other reasons you have a hard time exercising, in my mind. That is something you can consider later when maybe you want other things to try. Classes can be marvelous at gyms. Great happy upbeat post! Of COURSE you are doing fine.
