Hi - I am recovering form back surgery and cannot leave my house for a while but I NEED to get on the losing weight bus ASAP! I once did a low carb diet and just CANNOT face that again so I thought I would go the other way and try Weigh****chers. Is there a website or anything were I can just get an explanation and do it myself? Does anyone know of anything like that? I really do not want to deal with joining anything I just want to quietly do this myself. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi There

I am doing WW but on the program going to the classes etc. I can not do it without I really need that being weighed...

On their website you can find lots of info, also a forum in which a lot of people do ww without joining, you can ask everything you need to know on that forum. You could also consider joining WW Online.

LOTS of succes!!!

Hi, Sure you can find just about everything on the net!  :)  OUCH, you sound like you might be in a lot of pain.   I think that's a great idea to start up something while sitting around while your healing.  There is one site that you will probably find everything that you need to know about Weigh****chers.  Although it is not affiliated with it, and of course they might give you a few wrong turns here or there, but over all I LOVE this site when I'm following Weigh****chers.  The site is http://www.dwlz.com   (dotties weight loss zone). Good luck and I hope you  feel better real soon!

I am sorry you are feeling crummy.  Yes, my mom got to goal on WW, and we did it many times without going to the classes etc.  We would weigh each other, and still do our food diaries etc.  It will work in a pinch!

I did the original Weigh****chers back when I was 21 years old.  I am now 56 years old, and still obese.  I've tried WW three times since, including the meetings.  My latest attempt just put more weight on me.  And I found I couldn't afford to go to the meetings any more, any way, since they cost $12.00 a meeting.  Right now, I am doing the Vegan lifestyle diet, a plant-based, whole grain diet excluding eggs, dairy products, and animal protein, or meat.  So far, I've lost three pounds on it, and I've been on it a week now.  I'll weigh myself next on June 1, 2008, then not again until July 1, 2008.  I belong to Overeaters Anonymous, and they recommend weighing yourself once a month.  I agree, since weighing myself more often tends to get me more obsessed with my weight then I want.  I just don't want to think of how much I weigh more than once a month.  I weigh 276.5 right now, and I ultimately want to get down to 115 at least, or maybe 113.  I still have my size eight wardrobe hanging in a closet, waiting for me.  I bought that wardrobe when I was in my mid-30s. Good luck! Denise Phares/kitties4

At work i think I have an e-mailable brochure that describes the Core program. I'll look and pm you if so.  I think joining it for a time to get down basics would be well worth it! I still think about WW principles and incorporate what I can:  regular weigh ins; making sure I eat regular meals; think about balance in my food plan every day; do not exclude entirely any food groups; logging, even mentally every morsel of food that passes by my tonsils.  In my case, I am pretty sure the regular weigh ins are the most powerful tool. I can get off course if not cattle-prodded once in a while! ha.  Also, maybe try logging intake/exercise on fitday.com or daily plate - those types of tools are extremely valuable when we are getting reality checks on EVERY mouthful of food. We tend to decriminalize bites here and there when in truth it adds up!  There will come a day when I join WW again - they are constantly evolving and I like that. It does work for most people.

My entire family has been doing Weigh****chers from home for about six weeks now. I've lost 17 lbs in 7 weeks so far. Have you ever done Weigh****chers? You really need to get a point slider that will help you figure up your points. I don't know your knowledge level on the program but if you want me to help you figure up how many points you can have a day along with anything else you would like to know just email me. Weigh****chers is awesome!
