well how'd we do over the party weekend???
I look back and feel more positve than negative!
It is early Monday for me, so i can salvage this. I plan to jump on my bike and ride for 2-3 hours.
As far as food faux paux: 2 pieces banana bread at Saturday camping breakfast, 4-5 cookies after getting home, 2 pieces toast last night after supper, eh...i can deal with that. Every one of these trangressions would have been acceptable if they had been HALF the amount.
I did lots right:
Wogged on friday,
hiked Saturday,
wogged Sunday,
will bike today,
ate half my steak,
kept my portions low,
ate regularly,
worked in good fat and better quality protein,
good with fruits/veg,
kept my drinkin down to a 2-3 nightly level.
slept like a champ the past two night...not so much camping - was freezing!
Okay, y'all...tell us what you did right!
oh, this weekend was a total wash!
On Saturday, I went with my boyfriend to hike Camel's Hump in Vermont-wow! it was fabulous, probably the most challenging hike I've ever done-it's just over 4000 feet! holy crap!! we made it to the summit within 2 hours and then the hike back down took wayyy longer, mostly due to me being totally afraid of heights! Saturday started great-oatmeal for breakfast and peanuts for lunch atop the hump. Dinner was another story-so we finished the hike and drove down to town and decided to stay in Stowe for the evening. after getting a room, we went down to a mexican restaurant-and promptly ordered frozen margaritas and chips and salsa-the rest was a total wash, but soo much fun!! I drank three margaritas with reposado tequila-absolutely fabulous!
After that, we went to see Indiana Jones (entertaining!) and had some movie junk-food, but not terrible.
On Sunday, I ate a lemon muffin for breakfast-read lemon-flavored cake and glazed frosting-way to start my day, lol. Then we decided since we were so close anyway, we'd pay a visit to our old stomping grounds-so on to Burlington, VT we drove. They were having their vermont marathon, so we stood at the finish line and cheered the runners as they came in (three weeks ago, I ran a 5k in 27 minutes, and I have a vague goal of doing a marathon before I die-but wow, those people are amazing!). We walked around after the marathon and had some church street favorites-kettle corn, hot dogs, shaved ice-
Then we finally found it in ourselves to leave and head back toward Amherst...stopping when we got home for dinner at Bertucci's, where I had tortelini and sausage and two rolls of bread.
HOWEVER-my body is SORE from the hike, and yesterday and today I went for five-mile jogs both days, sooo i did stay active, I just ate like a freakin champion!
HMMMM...weekend seems a blur now...let's see...
Friday: Walked around Wally World twice shopping for who knows what, parked farther away from the school so I could walk a little further.
Saturday: Walked while at a party, watched what I ate as well as how much, ate lighter earlier in the day to allow for the evening
Sunday: Walked while at another party, watched what I ate as well as how much, ate lighter earlier in the day to allow for the evening
Monday: Not a whole lot so far. I feel really lazy but still doing pretty good food wise so we'll see.
Yea right? A complete blur!! One minute rolling into the next rolling into hours and rolling into days... it's all the same.
On Saturday I don't remember what I ate.
Yesterday I had 2 sausage links for breakfast and a hamburger patty for dinner.
Whatever.. it was within my plan.
Today.. even with all of the food we cooked for the party... I stayed on plan. I had two sausage links for breakfast and I had a hamburger patty leftover from the party about an hour ago. I ate late so that should sit in my stomache until tomorrow.
Only exercise was up and down and up and down the cellar steps. I cooked, I cleaned, I mowed, I mulched, I cleaned the carpet again (the dog is SICK!)
So.. hope everyone had a great weekend... I look forward to seeing how we all deal with the 4th of July!! :)
God Bless
Lori
Well..I'll put it nice and simple. I sucked at life when it came to food this weekend. I'm sure i"m up a couple of pounds. I'm going to weigh in the morning and see what the damage was. My husband kept telling me "we're on vacation" , over and over again. It will come off fast though, since it was only five days.
I did eat sea food almost every night. OMG I had the best salmon and halibut there on our last night. It was so nice, I ate it with black beans and salad (see I TRIED!). My mouth is jus****ering thinking of how good it was. I think it was marinated in some kind of blueberry something or another. It was scrumptious! I am such a halibut and salmon lover, especially halibut!! mmmmm GOOOOOD!
LOL just reminded me of how I'm a pure Alaskan. I'll give you a face of "ewww" and disgust if you put any other type of fish in my face than other what's available here. My poor husband wants catfish so bad...ewwww.lol
