I thought about Em when I was reading one of Dietgirl's old posts tonight. I just can't get enough of that blog! Anyways, here is part of a post I read tonight that I liked: ---------------------------------------------------------------------

OVERBLOWN WEIGHT-LOSS ANALOGY OF THE WEEK: The fat-busting process is like having something delicate in a saucepan, simmering on the stove. If you're not constantly watching and stirring, it all boils over or burns or gets sticky. Sure you're sick of stirring, your arm is tired, you're looking at the recipe impatiently and thinking, shouldn't something be happening by now?, but you have to stay there at that stove baby! Stay there until the dish is done!

... anyway, the lesson has been learned. I have to keep my eyes on the prize, pay attention to what goes in my gob and keep the momentum going.

i HEART dietgirl!!!!! i still have not ordered her book, but cannot wait for it. I'm forever grateful that you turned us on to her. This analogy is what it takes...never dropping the New Normal Ways.  A trip we never arrive on. Just enjoy that ride! It is what it is and we will do what we have to and what we can live with. This is a chronic disease, and i think that has finally sunk in.

LOL

Yeah I am the analogy queen!

That's a good one. Like making jam... when you keep checking to see if it's reached setting point yet! You keep thinking "Come on!!! I've been boiling this pot for ages... it must be set now!"

Style presumes that you are a person of interest, that the world is a place of interest, that life is worth making the effort for.
Don't be afraid that your life will end,
be afraid that it will never begin.

Know how to prevent sagging?
Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.
