OT..How are you spending Mother's Day?
on 5/10/08 11:33 pm - Rochester, NY
Wishing a happy day to all of you who are mothers (or have one....LOL)! Hope you get to spend the day with someone you love who appreciates you and all you do. My daughter and her husband moved into their new home yesterday (I had the three grandchildren for the weekend to help out). She is hosting brunch today in her new home for my mom and my brother and his family and her husband's mom and sister and their family too! God bless her!! Nice to be young. It will be a fun day...the sun is shining and much to be thankful for. Wish my son and daughter-in-law and baby Emily from KY could be there too, but received a beautiful card from them yesterday with a GC for my favorite restaurant....will talk to them later today, I'm sure. And my SO surprised me with a beautiful hibiscus tree and card this morning. So life is good. My greatest joy (and accomplishment in life) is being a good mother and a terrific BAMA (that's what the grandkids all call me). I feel very blessed at this stage of life to still have my mother with me (ok, so she drives me nuts, but I still love her). So I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the day.
My Mother's Day was a bit of a downer. Hubby is sick with flu on antibiotics so not much happened in the gift area (other than a couple of things I had bought previously and said "Give it to me for Mother's Day").
The kids brought me brunch in bed- which was a lovely treat.
I was fighting off the flu and after brunch put my head down for 'a minute' and woke up at a record late time for me... (((2pm))) Must have needed that sleep to fight the lurgy bug- cause I am not generally a late sleeper that way.
Mum and dad came over for afternoon tea at 3.30- so I spent 2- 3.30 showering/cleaning up the house.
That night we went to hubby's mum and dad for dinner. Which was good as I didn't have to cook.
We are both lucky to have both our mum's and dad's living within a 10 minute drive.
