Wishing a happy day to all of you who are mothers (or have one....LOL)!  Hope you get to spend the day with someone you love who appreciates you and all you do. My daughter and her husband moved into their new home yesterday (I had the three grandchildren for the weekend to help out).  She is hosting brunch today in her new home for my mom and my brother and his family and her husband's mom and sister and their family too!  God bless her!!  Nice to be young.  It will be a fun day...the sun is shining and much to be thankful for.  Wish my son and daughter-in-law and baby Emily from KY could be there too, but received a beautiful card from them yesterday with a GC for my favorite restaurant....will talk to them later today, I'm sure.  And my SO surprised me with a beautiful hibiscus tree and card this morning.   So life is good.  My greatest joy (and accomplishment in life) is being a good mother and a terrific BAMA (that's what the grandkids all call me).   I feel very blessed at this stage of life to still have my mother with me (ok, so she drives me nuts, but I still love her).  So I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the day.

LOL...my mom drives me nuts too, but as she ages, she is trying harder to be lovable! So she gets some brownie points there! We sent off live plants and candy to our moms who live in other states. We'll follow up with a phone call later today. Me? I get to be with all GS's - all three of them. and my DD's.  We will ride a school bus out to a Fiddler's Fair where there is bluegrass music, booths, foods...it is fun.  I'll plan on lunch out there - I like this one grilled meat bowl thing with veggies. The baby boys think they are livin' large when they get to ride a real, live, school bus! It is such a gift to see life thru new eyes with them! I am soooo blessed. Thank you, God! Tonight, DH and I will grill a turkey breast and have sweet potatoes with it.  I think i will make a spinach salad also. Yes, the Highest Job in the World! Mother......

We did our mother's day yesterday for the most part. Had a family pizza party and I gave my mom and sisters lindt truffles. They are so yummy Today at church, we had some of the kids say why they loved their mom's. It was cool. My 15 yr old said she loved her moms (me, my mom and another lady who she is VERY close to) because we unfluenced her even though my mom wasn't always the best influence.... I thought I was going to die. The audience about lost it. It was too funny. Anyway, we are off to the St. Louis Mills (mile long mall) in a few and they are going to find somewhere to take me to dinner. So it should be fun. I also was given another windchime. I love the last two chimes they have gotten me. They are very well constructed and make a loud resonating sound almost like listening to a pipe organ in a way. They are awesome and besides, they are loud enough to drive my neighbors crazy....my favorite part I must say. lol Happy Mother's Day gals!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! I got a 2 minute phone call from my daughter. My niece snuck a balloon and a card into my room when I was sleeping.. lol My sister and her daughter went to her mother-in-law's for dinner, so I took advantage of the time and got her bedding to the laundrymat. I PIGGED out!  I made eggplant parm with a fresh pot of sauce and meatballs.  I ate 2 meatballs and about 3 bites of eggplant.  This morning I threw some ground beef in a pan with a couple of eggs... so I really feel pigged out today. When Joyce got back upstairs and I got back.. we went to the cemetary to see our mother Our sister, Debi, is stopping by in a little while. otherwise... tonight I'll be hangin' on the front porch smokin' butt after butt until the neighbor guy comes around for my sisters to rip him to shreds again.. LOLOLOLOLOL  They're so funny.

I have been bugging my family for months that I want to get out of town.  But unfortunately here it is still pretty cold in the mountains while traveling.  But I woke up this morning and the first thing I said to them was "I want to go to Seward".  Forty minutes later we were all headed in that direction (about a two and a half hour drive).  We went to the Sea Life Center, kids had a ball there.  I got to see my lil puffin friends ( I love puffin birds), and all kinds of sea life.  The sea otters were out every where, so the kids had fun with that also.  We got home about seven in the evening, enough time to relax and enjoy a quite Sunday night at home.

My Mother's Day was a bit of a downer. Hubby is sick with flu on antibiotics so not much happened in the gift area (other than a couple of things I had bought previously and said "Give it to me for Mother's Day").

The kids brought me brunch in bed- which was a lovely treat.

I was fighting off the flu and after brunch put my head down for 'a minute' and woke up at a record late time for me... (((2pm))) Must have needed that sleep to fight the lurgy bug- cause I am not generally a late sleeper that way.

Mum and dad came over for afternoon tea at 3.30- so I spent 2- 3.30 showering/cleaning up the house.

That night we went to hubby's mum and dad for dinner.  Which was good as I didn't have to cook.

We are both lucky to have both our mum's and dad's living within a 10 minute drive.
