Boo! :)
I accept that they're in the way of my goal. No problems there.. I mean I know that. But why oh why I keep indulging I don't know. I don't work like most people. You could tell me I'm going to be fined 1 million for eating a butterfinger and I'll eat 4 of them. I trade the here and now for the future i guess.
My opinion? Well, I remember how we first talked about this and you my friend negotiated a one a month treat. I said, careful--sugar often makes you crave more. BUT not having sugar makes the craving go away.
I thin****il you test this theory AND come to the conclusion that a stupid candybar is doing you harm (weight, glucose, etc.), you will continue to moderate your indulgences.
Believe me, many Atkinseers say, just a bite...but eventually learn that doesn't work with Atkins or for them.
Even I teeter, so I'm not suggesting anyone, least of all me, is perfect. Just that I understand.
It's all about striving for balance, IMO. It takes practice to get there.
Another thought. Why you keep indulging? Because you had the taste and want more. It's very much "junkie" thinking, always looking for that elusive first feeling of getting high. I think sugar for some of us does something very similar. Now, I do think that if you were TRULY going to be fined $1m you wouldn't because your mind would say "money...caring for family...not worth the risk."
