I started my book about my weightloss journey.

I have 10,500 words so far.

How cool is that?

Oh that's fabulous!!!  I was dreaming of doing the same thing.. my sisters are trying to get me motivated!  It's an arduous task.... to say the very least, but it will be well worth it and quite an inspiration for all of those out there who are in the same boat as you once were.  I remember feeling as though there was never any going back but always feeling inspired by the stories of others who had come back. God Bless you!!! Lori

You want to write a book? Start now! Write a paragraph here and there- be sure to date it.  Even if nothing else it's something for you to reflect on.  My favourite bits are ones where I have put in a dream weight and I am now well under that weight.  I laugh and smile to myself!

I avoided it for years.  I knew I would do it, but didn't quite know where to start.  Then I just decided not to stress about that and just start- I can always move it about later.

THAT is incredible! Jeesh, 10K is awsome and a good start.  One thing awesoem about computers is that we can cut and paste if we see differences in how we want to present.  I dream of writing essays and perhaps a short book of essays.

The hardest bit was trying to work out where to start.

I LOVE cut and paste... I am using it alot so far moving things around as the flow evolves.

Essays? Hmmm interesting.  So you like writing too?

Hi Em

That is just great! If you ever need someone to edit or proof-read , let me know!

Wanna write a book too but have to lose weight first LOL

Thanks Carina...

I may just take you up on that edit offer- maybe you could take a look at my 'chapter outlines'? See if there are any additional suggestions?

I started by doing some chapter outlines as short 'dot point' key concepts so I can then fill in bits and pieces. Mind you, I have already added some new headings and realised some need to merge somehow.

VERY COOL! That is Very Cool!!!!! I have had SO MANY people tell me I should write a book but I haven't the first idea on how to get a book published!  I haven't thought of it in YEARS now, but I use to write a LOT about things after the loss of my son... also wrote some pretty deep poetry back then. Some of that was published in a grief booklet that was handed out at some hospitals some years ago but nothing for pay. Keep it up! I will certainly buy a copy!!

Thankyou for the enouragement! I have no idea about how to publish a book either... I figure I'll worry about that later.  Poetry... I write poetry too. hmmm.... ideas forming here... I could include some of my poetry! Buy it? For you... free!

I hadn't realised you had lost a son.  Sorry to hear that, it must have been a terrible awful time for you.  I can't imagine anything worse.

em, were you around when Kriz and I used to talk about Nanowrimo? It's a writer's forum. Every November they kick off an event called Nanowrimo where everyone is to write a book in 30 days - I thnk the minimum is 10K words.  Then each writer has a draft and can actually go on to publish.   It's a very cool site - lots of very creative types, lots of discussions on writing,  Some day, in my SPARE time, I would love to join a creative writing group again - I did it many years ago when newly single.  It whiled away hours with very intelligent interesting people.  I like to write poetry, but a good portion of it I could not ever share - talk about being naked in public! I also used to go to poetry readings....wow...so many unpublished greats out here. Do you have those in your area? Maybe you could start one.  Ours are usually at coffee houses.
