Bad weekend, Fresh start today (warning: rambling)

Hi Guys

We had a family reunion weekend. It started out really good with going to the gym and exercising for an hour VERY HARD cardio on saturdaymorning.

Then we went to the family on the other side of the country and ate very good over there. But THEN DH and I went to sit on one of the terraces by the water, in the sunset and having a drink there. We ended up drinking one Corono and eating a big portion of onion rings and nachos together. Hmmm.

Sunday was the reunion. For DH's grandma's 91st birthday! So I ate VERY good and low cal all day, but at the bowling alley I got lost. Had some of the fried snacks they were carrying around. Then we all sat down for dinner, it is called Stone-grilling, do you guys know that? They put out meat and veggies and you get a piping hot stone on which you grill your own stuff at the table. I had 3 pieces of lean meat, which is not bad, and lots of veggies. But also had some fries, some bread with butter, some mayo and an ICECREAM afterwards.

Looking back, I should have at least skipped the icecreanm and either the bread or the fries, for it to have been an -in control- day. So bad-bad-bad, but hey- I enjoyed it very much :-)

My intention is to learn how to deal with these kind of things, without letting slip totally. Next time I'll do better.

PLUS SIDES of this, or, improvements as how I would have handled it in the past:

-saturday night, we left some rings and nachos on the plate when i felt full. BEFORE I would have cleaned it out completely and would have felt overstuffed

-sundaynight also stopped when full, in stead of piling up more. So trying to learn to listen to my satietycenter LOL

-I exercised AND ate very good during the days! Normally I would consider this weekend a 'lost cause' (heck, the whole week would be lost!) and I would do nothing to move, and eat bad all weekend 'because it is shot anyway'

I guess those are improvements.

I got back o n track this morning for a fresh start, or shall I say, continuation of my healhty Carina porgram ;-) I know I still lost weight this week, so OK, let's move on :-)

The weather is AWESOME here this week! (I SO hope this will be the case next week, when we go on a holiday in our own country) and my eldest boy is staying at my inlaws for a few days, so I'll take baby Vince for long walks and sit in the garden a lot. Getting tanned.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!!!!

It seems like weekends like this are catching around here.  Live and learn I guess is all we can do!  I don't think it was a total loss, you seemed like you already learned somethings, like leaving some of those nachos!  I'm with you, I normally would have cleaned the plate clean!  That is one of my weakest foods. Omg when you said Corona my mouth actually watered! ha  Think it's about time to let go and have a drink or two soon.  It's been a while!  Corona's one of the few beers I'll drink. Well girl, this week is a new week....here we go! :)

Well the fried things, onion rings and nachos... not a good idea.  BUT I thought for a weekend away it wasn't too bad. Goodness knows I have fish and chips when I go away to the coast on holiday... how could I not? This is life, and I intend to live life too.

It was a little 'sight seeing'... when you go away it's normal to indulge a little.  You handled the rest of it so well! You should be proud of yourself.  Especially the way you're thinking... not just eating bad all weekend cause it was shot anyway.  Moving on from that type of mindset! What sort of cardio did you do?

You rock!

Keep on track and the scales will be your friend!

well this is a path, so it takes a while to reason it out.  I am glad that you do realize that you are changing. Now, take it a bit further and ask yourself - with WLS, what would I have eaten in scenarios like that?  For me, vacations should be to NOT gain! That is about the best we can expect. Weekends, however, is some thing that we all have to reckon with and get a different head on about. We cannot afford to undo all the hard work we did all week. I foregor lots of sweets and breads in the work room so I can has me sum beers on the weekend. Even at that, I am slowing waaaay back on what I want to drink.   This is hard, but not impossible! Good job, Catje!
