Just posting because well...I can! hehe

I just feel like posting something.  Just trying to wake up for the day.  I'm ready to get back on track, my mind frame is in the right place about weight loss, and I'm ready to go! :)  My leg is still sore, plus I'm limping,  might even be more sore now than that it was tell ya the truth.  So no exercising for me for a while.  I'm trying to walk as much as I can, but that is even limited. The past few days I've been trying to lose the weight that I've gained over the past two weeks.  I've gained between six to eight pounds.  Luckily for me when I gain fast I lose fast.  IF I catch it soon!  So I am already down, got a pound and a half to go until I reach my "pre-mourning" state.  So I'm happy about that.  Nicked it in the bud just in time. I've got to lose weight fast for my legs sake, but at the moment I have it in my head that I just CANNOT go without any kind of foods.  I binge so bad if I think this.  I think this is why I am always so skeptical going on so many kind of plans.  Yes I know that bad fattening foods aren't the way to go.  And I think I've learned a LOT the past few months about eating quantities of veggies.  I've learned that I am a volume eater, and the veggies are helping me drastically!  I've also learned that preparing the basic starter of a meal, whatever it might be..(that consists of veggies) is a must for me at the beginning of every week.  Like sauting onion, mixed colors of bell peppers, garlic, asparagus maybe mushrooms.  Whatever I have basically.  That is a staple for me for omelettes, and other things.  It's a quick easy, for things that require a lot of veggies.  Heck..even chili!  I guess what I'm trying to say is yes..I'm eating healthier, BUT I'm not going to deny myself from that piece of cake, or a regular size cheeseburger if I want it badly on OCCASION.  I just got to figure out how to work it into my daily calories.  Maybe like once every two weeks or so.  I've got to want it badly before I will give in. I'm going very low calories right now to see if I can lose fast because of my leg.  Not sure what else to do atm.  Pray for me that this will work!!  I've been thinking if I should go back to the doc at Prov.  I hated that man, lol he was a complete ass.  I was actually scared of him!  Sort of reminds me of a military doctor or something.  But I keep wondering if it will help keep me in line.  I don't know..I really don't want too, but I'm keeping it in my head as an alternative.  I wish they had more docs, weird they only have the one at Providence.  All I know is that 16 pounds since November is not acceptable to me, not at this amount of weight.  I got to speed things up.  Can't figure out why getting below 290 is so hard for me!  Guess it's time to push, push and push! :) I hope everyone has a happy hump day!

Try and keep busy to keep food off your mind.  When you go to the fridge, stop and think about your leg and it may help you.   Good luck to you!! Brenda

Hi Rachel

Hey you seem in the right frame of mind to start losing big time girl!

But please be very careful: eating very low calorie will hurt your body en will make you gain in the long run! Why? Your body goes into starvation mode. You lose weight at fuirts quickly, but there after your body will fast to hold on to anything you put in your mouth. as soon as you up your calories again; it makes you gain like crazy to 'stock up' for the next drought!

Maybe consider something else. I do WW and we can eat a ton of food and still lose very good (I am on 3-4 lbs a week now which is excellent) We eat a lot throughout the day, we do not starve ourselves, the opposite: we eat frequently so our motor keeps running! Sometimes people who eat to little do not lose... they increase their healhty food intake and they lose again!

It is difficult for us to change this mindset, as we are strong believers in the low calorie theory. But dr Oz agrees with me on this one. Low calorie diets make you gain eventually. If you can, choose something for the long run. There is no such thing as rapid weight loss (without repercussions later)

That being said and done, it is of course your own personal choice! And we'll support you no matter what you do. Exercise will help get you under 290, once you are able to do it again. I don't know about your leg, but is swimming not an option?

GOOD LUCK on your new start!

Thanks for the info, but already know it all and done it!  :)   I've lost 100 pounds before on Medifast.  40-50 here and there on different plans and with nutritionists.  I've been on WW several times also.  It's a good plan, but not for me at the moment.  I know what I'm doing.  I'm not eating too low, I'm actually eating very healthy.  My new thing is loving veggies and natural foods, maybe even raw foods only! :)  Highly doubt it, but it's my new "reading".    At least I'll be educating myself.  For some reason this fascinates me.  I love learning about different ways of eating.  Sometimes I think  I should have been a nutritionist myself.  Lol what a sight that would be, an over weight one at that!  Wonder how long it would take to get a job! haha I would LOVE to swim again, afraid I can't though I'm allergic to something in water.  Thanks for caring! Holly

ah to bad about the swimming eh! I hope you'll soon be able to do a sport you love again.

I saw your eating journal, it looks indeed healthy and not to low. Of course i did not mean to be a smartass :-)

Keep at it, and you'll soon get under!
