Just posting because well...I can! hehe
Hi Rachel
Hey you seem in the right frame of mind to start losing big time girl!
But please be very careful: eating very low calorie will hurt your body en will make you gain in the long run! Why? Your body goes into starvation mode. You lose weight at fuirts quickly, but there after your body will fast to hold on to anything you put in your mouth. as soon as you up your calories again; it makes you gain like crazy to 'stock up' for the next drought!
Maybe consider something else. I do WW and we can eat a ton of food and still lose very good (I am on 3-4 lbs a week now which is excellent) We eat a lot throughout the day, we do not starve ourselves, the opposite: we eat frequently so our motor keeps running! Sometimes people who eat to little do not lose... they increase their healhty food intake and they lose again!
It is difficult for us to change this mindset, as we are strong believers in the low calorie theory. But dr Oz agrees with me on this one. Low calorie diets make you gain eventually. If you can, choose something for the long run. There is no such thing as rapid weight loss (without repercussions later)
That being said and done, it is of course your own personal choice! And we'll support you no matter what you do. Exercise will help get you under 290, once you are able to do it again. I don't know about your leg, but is swimming not an option?
GOOD LUCK on your new start!
