I am a mean movie mum- I rarely buy food for movies at all.  If they insist I bring airpopped popcorn from home with a tiny amound of salt and no butter.

Now cinnamon liquor sounds EVIL as I am sure it is totally addictive.

As for cinammon toast... well if it's raisin toast and only a wee bit of sugar with more cinammon, and low fat marg (yes, butter does taste better, but I avoid it) then 1 slice of cinammon toast is not totally bad.  It would actually make a tasty breakfast. Especially with a cup of expresso coffee....

  Coffee Toast Yummy

Type II's might want to add Chromium picolinate.. I do that with the cinnamon and it keeps my numbers down without medications

I haven't heard of Chromium picolinate before. Thanks for that info.  I wonder if it helps even out BGL for non-diabetics? From what I am reading having balanced BGL's helps your health.

I should think.. *think* that it's effective for non-diabetics, but in a smaller dose.... I take 1000 mg in the morning and 500 in the evening.. but.. yanno...  I'm working the actual diabetes thing without a net....   I wonder what the recommended dosage is for non-diabetics.  Anyway.. that and cinnamon are my major players.. they do wonders.

Does chromium picolinate really help much as an appetite suppressant? Brenda

Oh wow... I have no clue.  I use it to lower my numbers.  My appetite is suppressed from the fat I'm eating.. it's nearly non-existent.

It's been so long since I've read your post! Can you repost and say exactly what you take and how much? I couldn't tell if you are taking 1000mg of Cinnamon or the Chromium Picolinate.

Hey Em I have NOT been able to get this post out of my mind since you put it THERE!! hehe! Ever since I read it I've been on a mission to get more info. There are several research papers out there, but I've been looking for people with first had experience. It's been a mostly unsuccessful adventure in that regards. Along the way I've learned about this supplement and Chromium Picolinate. I was able to buy the CP here in the but Cinnamon supplements where too difficult to find. My GNC didn't have it (and seemed clueless) and amazon.co.uk wanted $30! Good news is that my cousin is visiting the and he brought me a bottle of Cinnamon supplements! YAY!

I have talked to many friends and family (with type 2 diabetes) that say they have heard of the benefits of taking these supplements. But no one has actually tried them. I even called Mom and said that she has some in her medicine cabinet, but has never bothered to take them. WTH MOM??!! LOL! When I started the CP about 4 weeks ago I wa****ting a plateau. I adjusted my diet and started CP around the same time. Ever since I've been on the CP my weight has been steadily dropping. If the CP (and hopefully the Cinnamon) act like the medications that I can’t take (due to bad reactions) then I'm in good shape. In general I am very sensitive to medications and vitamins. I will get my insulin levels tested again in a month. Here's to hoping 2 solid months of taking CP and 1 solid month of taking the Cinnamon will give me a push in lowering my levels.  THANK YOU EM!!!
