Cinnamon: Help for Insulin Resistance and Weight Loss
Read an article in a magazine and then did some net surfing too... but this sounded interesting. It talks about the link between cinammon and reducing blood glucose levels- especially in Type 2 diabetics... but apparently it still works for all of us.
Luckily I LOVE cinnamon... and have been know to sprinkle it on yoghurt, cereal and toast! Maybe this has helped my blood sugars without me even realising it?

My hubby laughs at our menu- he asked me recently (since he has actually been cooking the meals since my surgery) "Is there any meal here which doesn't start with brown the onions and garlic?"... umm YEP! Roast! That's about it though!
I too LOVE spices... especially chilli and curries.
Let me know if you find the article.

I copy this from the dr Oz book now:
"here's a tantalizing observation: Cinnamon (with an M, not with a B!) seems to have and insulinlike effect, enhancing the satiety center in your brain while also reducing blood sugar and cholestorol levels. Just half a teaspoon a day can have some effect. Prinkle it in cereal or on toast, or add it to a smoothie"
So yes, since I totally go blind on what dr oz said, I already sprinkled cinnamon in my porridge every day :-)
You and me both love cinnamon on porridge! (note: Porridge as opposed to oatmeal!) LOL
I love it on raisin toast with low fat marg (well, let's be honest it would taste even better with butter... however it's called BUTTer for a reason... it sticks to your butt!)
I think I may just have to look into that Dr Oz book, he sounds like he's on my wavelength.
