8 Steps Forward 2 steps back
Hi everybody,
I had a very good run going. 8 straight days of strictly following my diet and exercise program. Yesteday I slipped and ate more than I should. Then this morning at breakfast I continued to eat too much. If this continues it will be bad.
I though I would post here to hold myself accountable, stop this backsliding and get back with my program.
So, for anyone who may be listenting, I will get back on my program today. No more mindless eating.

What exactly are you eating? if it is fast food or crappy food...get it out of the mix, take it out of the house, stop going there.
If it is eating too much healthy food, that is harder. But you can try things like sipping hot broth before meals, or making veggie soup to fill the void. Or leaving to go for a short walk to get your head together.
A very high protein diet will help curb hunger, too. Eat your lean proteins first, then veggies, if any room, eat the grains last very small amounts - grains can aggravate hunger in many of us!
in my case, i know my body takes a long while to register satiety - eat slowly, then wait 20 minutes - set a timer if you have to!
The amount of food we eat really is habit based. Try it: plate up your food in the right amounts: meats the size of a deck of cards, grains no more than the size of your fist, all the veggies you want (not potatoes), put some good fat on it like butter or saffloa based mayo or olive oil....then sit and eat slowly. I bet you will be amazed how much more satisfied you feel!
If you feel hunger after eating, again...WAIT it out! If you really really still feel hunger, gor for a walk or leave the house or go take a bath.
Make a portein drink - there are really great powders out there. Find one that is almost zero carbs (which means no sugar) and blenderize it with frozen berries or banana.
Thanks for the tips. Yestday I was just eating too much food. My wife had prepared a nice healthy dinner and I didn't stop eating when I should have.
This morning, I was just eating crap. I don't have any in the house but I stopped and bought some on my way into work. New rule there, never stop to buy food on the way to or from work it can only be trouble.
I will try some of your advice to adjust my diet more toward higher protien. I also like the idea of just getting out of the house for a walk after dinner to keep me away from the food and give my body a chance to regist what I ate.
I will let you know if any of this works.

Hey, Thanks for the encouragement. I think I am ready to get back on the wagon.
You are right, I made up the name Buzden after finding my real name and most other versions I could think of were already in use. But, now that I have created an "alias" I kind of like it. So, while I am here at OH feel free to call me Buzden.
