Bad news..and then good news...
Well today..i didn't work..and I thought you know..back in January I went to the doctor and had my blood pressure taken to be able to get on diet pills..well my blood pressure was high but i had just gotten off work..and had both kiddos with me..so today i thought i would go back and try again..well i got there and i get worked up partly because i know i want these diet pills..which i was on before and they helped..and i know they are going to take my blood pressure so i feel that i get kinda worked up to start with..well my blood pressure was still high..so i still got a no..it was 150/100 which really scares me and it has never been this way...so thats the bad news.. BUT i did make me a doctor appointment for this week for Wednesday morning to go in because I am a bit worried about my blood pressure because it was high back in January..
The good news being..well from January until now..i have lost 13 lbs..yeah which isn't much but 13 lbs adds up..so i was happy about that..i was expecting to be the same or more..which i like weighing on the doctors scales..they just seem more accurate to me..so i am going to go walk my 2 miles tonight and tomorrow and watch what i eat..and i have got myself away from pop already and sweets..i have been working on that..so my goal is maybe when i go in on Wednesday..i will be right at 300 or maybe even under.. i am only 24 and it scares me that my blood pressure was like that..so we will see wednesday what he has to say..but until then i'm going to dwell on that at least i have lost some weight since the last time that i was in there!!!
13# is great - and it seems like you are not tooo whiny about the changes you have made, so relatively painless, yes?
The BP is scary, but think of the motivation you may get out of it, and also the doc may put you on meds - it could be this is genetic and was coming no matter what your weight was. Mine has not come down at all since losing weight, so my meds stand. Mine is about like yours - on meds it is often still 130/80, at treatment start it was more like 140/86. Thye let me go like that for a while, a few years.
So they may just monitor you and see how your weight loss may help it. Keep in mind that they never used to give meds til it was more like 160/100, so you are not there yet.
Whatchu talkin 'bout Willis? 13 lbs? That is awesome! I wish they were going to tell me that when I go on Thursday....but there is no way! You should be VERY proud of yourself!
I am going back to the doc Thurs for blood pressure too.....after water pills I am still at like 145/112 this past week! UUGH
let us know how it goes!
Haha..that first line cracks me up..i am glad that i am not the only one to say that..its good to hear it from someone else. I am proud of myself..and as Neecee has said..after hearing that yesterday I am even more determined to do this..cause the high blood pressure doesn't run in my family..and its high for me..so i am going to lose more weight and exercise and eat better and i'm going to lose even more! my first goal is to just lose 2 more lbs! I will let you know how it goes..and goodluck to you too..does high bp run in your family?
My mom is almsot 60 and she has been on meds for BP since around maybe 45 yrs old?!? I am not sure about grandparents, etc....
I went to the doc yesterday and I have been put on meds -- it was like 154/89. It's all over the place. I'm looking at re-vamping my program to attempt to get this weight off and luckily, this time, my SO wants to do it with me
