Small Victory
So, for the last month I have been trying to get going with my weight loss. It has been a series of small victories and setbacks. Anyway, it feels like this week I am finally getting some traction. I have been exercising every day, and sticking to my meal plan like I should. The best part is that it feels OK. I don't feel the cravings for food that have derailed me before. I know I will have to face these cravings again in the future, but for today I am happy where I am and I am building some confidence that I will be able to face adversity if and when it presents itself again.
When you look at the time you have spent living the habits of an obese person.... and think about what you have achieved in just one month- that is awesome. One month by comparison is a tiny amount of time, and it takes a long long time to change habits and lifestyle. Don't beat yourself up over small setbacks, look instead at them as reminders that you still have a long way to go before your mindset changes. But you have one month clocked up now, and soon it will be 2... then 3!

way to go buzden!!! You are well on your way. I am only 2 days on my way you already a week. Keep at it, it must be getting easier along the way
Off course we will have setbacks and cravings. if we DO fall off the wagon, remember this piece of advise from dr Oz:
Think of it as a GPS system. If you go wrong, do not be mad at yourself. Just say to yourself: At the next possible moment, make an authorized U-turn (dr oz calls this a YOU-turn) Do not think: now my whole day is gone just screw it. But make a you-turn as soon as possible and do not look back. The GPS doesn't blame you or looks back either. GPS is needed on your journey (look at em's last post on her profile)

buz, my promise to you is that the longer you have these mini-successes, the less you will have cravings! Pretty soon, your body and mind will respond so favorably to your new way of eating and moving, you will crave THAT!
Of course, you are right, life has a way of derailing us all once in a while, but I have learned - always be ready for that and have a plan...get back on track the next meal when you do slip up for starters - us fat peeps tend to get whiny and take our toys and go home crying when we should just shrug it off, and know that it was bound to happen.
we can DEW THIS!
