Dr's appointment today

I went to see my doctor today for a follow-up on my medications. Well, I also brought up what ails me. Anyway, BP is good and he doesn't feel a need to recheck my BS until my next visit in 6 months. He thinks what I am doing is probably helping it take care of itself but he will check to be sure especially since my dad was just diagnosed with diabetes. Overall, I am doing well and he loves my attitude so much better over the last time I was there. That was the first thing he noticed.  Ok, so what ails me... Dry, gritty, watery eyes- animal allergies. We have 3 cats and a dog inside and he feels they are the culprits especially the cats. I'm already taking singulair so he suggested Visine Allergy for the eyes.  My knee aches and my back locks up and hurts like a mutha if I lay flat on my back on a hard surface for any length of time. For that, he gave me a month's worth of physical therapy and won't release me for exercise classes until after I complete the PT. He also believes the knee is the onset of athritis. Lastly, my period went haywire last month. Instead of one week, it went 2 weeks and was all mucked up. Soooo to rule out anything other than early menopausal symptoms, I have to have a pelvic ultrasound Tuesday. Basically, this is because my mom and sis both have problems with fibroids, pain and bleeding. Mom had to have a hysterectomy and my sister will be having one soon. My sister is only 32 and my mom was only about 45. So better safe than sorry.  Other than all that, I am in better shape than I have been in a VERY long time. LOL I feel great. I am moving faster and now when I stand up my muscles scream because they need exercise not because they are getting moved. Life is getting better and better by the day.  Praise God for all his blessings and watching over me when I fail to. Beth

Ummmm, Dr. Neecee says:  off the cats and stop layin on hard surfaces!  LOL...there ya go, no charge today ma'am! I actually wanted to share that I had, last fall, a new procedure called Novasure for my fibroids/heavy periods/cramps issue.  It is an office procedure, and way less invasive than a hysterectomy. It fails only 10% of the time - helps 90% of the time!  In my case, the only way i would have had a hyst. was to save my life - that's how much I had no interest in dealing with hormone therapy any sooner than menopause would have bought me! Any way, i am so glad to read your very good report. Be proud!

Thank you Dr. Neecee. Want a cat? lol As far as the periods, I don't have heavy periods per say except for two day when everything is sloughing away and normally don't have cramping, never have. My main things are every so many months I will have a lighter than usual period and then turn around and have one heavier than usual but this time I spotted for like 3-4 days, light 3-4 days, heavy 3 days then light for like 5 days, then two more days spotting. Then a week and half later 2 more days of spotting. Just really different and annoying. Hubby tells me probably exercise and diet related and personally, I think he's pretty close. Doc thinks it is most likely early stages of menopause but wants to check other things out to cover the bases.  I know it sounds like a lot wrong but for me not having been to the doctor in five years before January of this year, I think this report is wonderful and just keeps getting better with every visit.

Beth, There is a product out there that really works for animal allergies...called Allerpet C for Cat and D for Dog..how novel right..any way it is applied to the dog and cats dry fur (no fun cat baths to contend with) and it cuts the dander and therefore the allergens.  It really helps for allergic people.  Walmart also has those air ionizers that usually cost 300 bucks for like 70 bucks, they help with the animals. I am a Certified Crazy Cat Lady..I mean Veterinary Technician Actually the first part is from my husband who is allergic to our five cats and who I have had to figure out how to keep these past 10 years ( the husband not the cats)  any way, sometime the antihistimine use can really set back your weight loss and using products on the animals instead of yourself may be a better way to go if possible.  Just a thought and thought I would recommend some things I know that work before you waste money on those vast things that don't,  Hope this helps...Blessings on your journey
