Today was an interesting day for me.  Most of it was spent on subways and trains getting back from the City.  Yes, this was the LAST week of training.  I will no longer be forced from my home every other week to travel 2 hours and spend a week in a hotel.  Hallelujia!!!! B:  1 cup non fat light vanilla yogurt with 1/2 banana, 1 cup of strawberries and the last 6 blueberries left in the hotel fridge, sprinkled with the crumbs of granola Nothing at all until I got home.  We brought my son to the therapist for his first appointment and then decided on dinner.  We vacillated between Mexican and the Diner and then my oldest son wanted us to go to Red Robin so we could have dinner and meet his new girlfriend.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, what about Red Robin, or any restaurant for that matter as I've recently discovered, could possibly be good for me?  So I decided to throw caution to the wind and just DO IT.  Well, as we are driving there, and during the over 30 minute wait for a table, I'm thinking of the possibilities.  I'm also playing all those head games with myself thinking....you didn't eat at all today, surely you are entitled to something GOOD, to, now those chicken breasts with NO Fries can't be too bad for you.  Uh huh.  Sooooooooooooooooooo in the end we got some appetizers, the nachos type, the artichoke spinach type (hey it's vegetables) and the con queso dip kind.  Yup, all with tortillas.  I decided that I wouldn't order a dinner because all that other stuff was more than filling but when it came time I couldn't resist.  My sons girlfriend, who is so small I could snap her in two, decided on nothing.  So I got the Whiskey BBQ chicken wrap and gave her half.  Ha, so there.  The new MIL is going to give you food, you best eat it child!!!!  hehe So I ate a few of the fries, yup I did, but then gave the whole lot to my boyfriend and told him no more for me.  I ate about 1/2 of the 1/2 of the chicken wrap and called it a night.  My son, however, ordered this mountain of mud slide pie -- or whatever it's called -- and shared it with my SO. So i get home and of course I'm going to google the nutrition content of what I ate.  Can't find the appetizers at all, sadly, but I am not in enough denial to think that they weren't by far the WORST choices.  I did find the calorie and nutrition content for the wrap and according to the various websites it could have been anywhere from 357 to 1104 calories.  Was that for half, the whole, half of the half?? Who the hell knows.  Suffice to say that I didn't eat another bite of food that day. Did I go way over my calorie allotment for the day?  Doubtful.  Were the choices poor??  Pretty sure. LOL  I did walk away from the dinner realizing, yet again, that it really wasn't a whole heck of a lot better than what I could have made.  I'm not enamored with restaurant food in the slightest, and this experience didn't change that.  I won't be heading back, not at all.  Aside from the crazy food the place was wildly loud, they sing at the top of their lungs for birthday parties and if last night was any indication, a whole LOT of people go there for their birthdays. So that's my confession for the day.  I'm heading to the gym in about 5 minutes and I think about 2 1/2 hours on the elliptical will undo the damage I've been able to wreak in one nights time. LOL

Hi donna! Red Robin fachry-eye! That is a trap and a half.  The only thing I think I ate there that was "kind of" food plan acceptable was the beef patty on a salad. geesh.  Eating on the road in general is usually not pretty.  i myself am off to Embassy Suites in Sac soon - ay yi yi...happy hour, omelets, muffins..hold me....

I contemplated the beef patty wrapped in salad.  I totally vetoed the idea. LOL Honestly, it's just not reasonable to even suggest someone can stay "on plan" eating at restaurants, as we have discussed ad nauseum here.  The Breakfast buffet at the Marriot I stayed at was $22.00.  Um, no thanks!!!!!!  So I was safe. Good luck and enjoy the hell out of your weekend!!!
