OT: Another Tidbit for you Alaska Folks :)
"Sunshine is finally starting to return to the Carolinas but certainly the clouds have outnumbered the sun in recent weeks. Prior to Wednesday, we hadn't seen full sunshine since late March. Feels a little like Seattle, right? Not really: did you know Seattle will sometimes have months where the clouds can dominate for over 20 days? And did you know that Seattle isn't the cloudiest city in the U.S?That distinction goes to Juneau, Alaska. Juneau averages over 270 days of cloudy weather. They do, however, average two sunny days a week during this time of year. Lucky them!"
That came from our local meteorologist. :) Just when you think conditions are unlivable where you are, think of Alaska and all the stuff they have to put up with!
Hi Mr. 285!!! Good to see you.
Living here in one of the hottest areas on Earth (us and Death Valley usually have the spikiest temps in summer when you see the national view of temps) I USED TO think I wanted to live in Seattle or any other coastal area here in the west. NOT. Especially as I get older, i cannot stand weeks on end of clouds.
Nice places to visit, but then i have to come home to thaw out and de-mold myself!
YEP!!! I am SO SICK of the greyness and low cloudiness... yucky SOAKING WET weather!! We have the same- if not a little LESS bright in our town. We are 100 miles south of Juneau but we are surrounded by mountains that keep the fog and clouds in quite a bit. I am truly READY to get out of here! If I could take my house & my job... I wouldn't blink!
My little girl- she'll be 7 on the 26th... she said today: "When we wake up- is it going to be spring break??" I told her Yes, that spring break starts on Monday- no school for all of next week. She got so excited! "So the SUN WILL SHINE cause it's SPRING BREAK right?!"
I hated to burst her bubble, however... this is our weather predictions for this week:

I hope you don't mind me jumping on to your post. I look through all the forums daily in search of great recipes, lol! I thought I'd give you a giggle from Alaska. We had a week of beautiful weather right about the time I had surgery, Mid March. We all thought spring was here and were gearing up for some outdoor fun. Mother Nature decided she wasn't done with us and I've woken up to fresh snow every day for the last 2 weeks! Sometimes just a dusting, like this morning. Sometimes 8 inches like yesterday, lol!! My husband is about 2 hours from here and the average snowfall has been about 3 FEET every 48 hours!! Holy Snow!! Before you complain about the weather, think of me!!
