Well...we leave on vacation for two weeks on Friday. Headed for KY for the baptism then on to HH. I'm really ready to get away and to some warmer weather....soak up the sun.
BUT....I'm worried about my food. Have a plan....no bread, potatoes or desserts and limit fruit to one/day. I'm sure I'm not going to be as vigilant as I am at home, but think that should keep me pretty much on course. We'll be eating out all dinners and some lunches....breakfast in the condo. Gonna stop at the grocery store to get my supplies on the way to the condo so I'm prepared.
Haven't lost any more weight since week 2....will be happy if I can maintain over vacation. Will walk the beach if my knee allows. How am I gonna live for two weeks without a computer and you guys? I'm addicted!...what's new?
So have a good two weeks without me guys....hope I don't have too much of a gain to report when I get back. (Now that doesn't sound too positive, does it?)
Buy a cheapo journal! That helps me and you should have time while lying on the beach. Pretend you are talking to us, giving a report!
There will be a pool there...try looking up some water aerobic moves before you go. I do feel stupid and conspicous when I do that kind of thing (jogging in water, etc), but hey, who cares? Try to get there early!
Make sure you have fresh fruit around and stay out of the chips and desserts - maybe one a day. I read today that 4 stalks of celery has all of the potassium of one banana for less than half the calories. So, more celery for me!
i allow for one meal daily of whatever, but within some reason on portion size on vaca. Maybe leave a few bites on your plate just cuz you can.
I think your plans sound reasonable. I likelwise try to not gain when on vaca. If you do come back with a couple of pounds - well that can be gone in a few weeks, too. it usually is water weight. Be assured that you have changed and just because you go off plan for a week does not mean you can't get right back on the bus.
The main idea - have fun (fun does not = food, either - amuse yourself by finding ways that having fun that do not = food!), RELAX! you are in control here. Give yourself a break.
Hi Sherrie,
Well as you already know I have been on "vacation" for 7 of the past 14 weeks. The last two I've spent in NYC, this is my last night here. Do you have ANY idea how much food is in NYC? There is Mexican, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Turki****alian, Greek and good ole' American. That's not to mention the people standing on all the street corners and along the block selling food out of carts. NY Pretzels, ChinaTown, Little Italy.....okay, I'll stop now. LOL
I've been eating yogurt w/strawberries, blueberries and bananas for breakfast, turkey wraps that I make myself for lunch and for dinner I've been pretty much winging it, but most of the time it's something simple like a slice of pizza or another turkey wrap..
Okay, whats all that for? Well it's just not worth it. For too long i've associated leaving the house with eating. Car trips, fill up the cooler and the back seat with junk food. Why??? Where does that come from? i have no idea. Stop at every rest stop and eat garbage food? Why?? I don't know. I don't know when I started associating food with vacationing. Why can't vacationing be about just enjoying those you are with. (collective you, not YOU/Sherrie.) LOL
Okay, there is my vent. you sound like you are ready for this. Work it girl, work it!
Hi Sherrie!
I don't have any ideas to help you while on your vacation... Lord KNOWS I planned to do very well and FAILED miserably last month while on my vacation! But I just wanted to stop by and wish you the best! Have a very HAPPY and RELAXING vacation!!
I like neecee's idea of a journal! You can write down your thoughts, fears and feelings- just like you would be posing here! And as you return- you can use it as notes and post what you want to on here- the feedback might be helpful the next time or for others as they face similar situations.
Have a GREAT time!!
