Smoothies
I don't know if i have done this before or if i just thought about it..my memory stinks these days!!!
Does anyone have a good smoothie or shack or drink or whatever you want to call it to make in the mornings that is good for you? I had tried the carnation breakfast drink with fruit in it..and it was horrible i couldnt drink it..any other ideas?
I've tried searching for some..but i dont want one that calls for a lot of things to put in it.i want it simple so i can make it and go..i'm rushed in the mornings.

I like to use the EAS brand of whey protein. It is available at Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, BJ's, nutrition stores, etc. It is available in vanilla or chocolate. I put the water in first, then the powder, then I add fiber for health and help with weight loss (Benefiber is available in sugar free with no taste). Then I throw in my favorite frozen fruit. Strawberries are great with either flavor. But you can add mixed berries, blueberries, or any fruit you like.
If I want variety, I use All The Whey brand of chocolate mint whey isolate or eggnog whey isolate.
Other ideas for a smoothie are available through youtube. Look for FlyLady, Saving Dinner, or Leanne Ely on their site. Leanne is a dietician.

If you want a protein drink I also use the EAS, I love the chocolate. As for smoothies, I LOVE smoothies. Just made some for my kids last night. I have a smoothie machine that I absolutely love. I just use a cup each of milk and fruit with two or three splenda packets. Some of us like sf hot chocolate mix in it instead of the splenda. Nice and easy.
I use to put a packet of oatmeal in mine also! You can put just about anything in there. I cut my bananas when they start looking a little yucky into four pieces and freeze them. I use them also for chocolate (sf hot chocolate mix) and banana smoothies, and occasionally with peanut butter.
