Beginning to feel like a human again.... Sharing a Scale victory and NSV

I can't bring myself to buy the size I need.  I just can't do it.. not yet.  I feel like it's an admission of some sort.. like I feel as though the game is over.. It's NOT over until THIS fat lady sings! My daughter has soooooooooooooooooooooo much .. she'll never mind sharing.  I won't wear any of her more funky things anyway.  She's like me in that she wears a lot of black (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree)...  

That is a very good deal for you now.  One friend's daughter got a little possessive about her clothes when her mom approached her size.  But the mom is now smaller than the daughter. Ha! You still may need to buy something when your daughter's clothes are too big for you.  Yes!  I know this will happen.  So get ready.  You will need to wear something.  You don't want to look larger than you are, right?  Clothes that are too big make a person look bigger.

"One friend's daughter got a little possessive about her clothes when her mom approached her size" That would never happen around here.  She might be possessive with her electronics.. her art supplies.. maybe even her favorite guitar (and I'd need proof of that one).. but the rule she grew up to has always been "If you have two, give one away.  If you have 1, split it in half, if you only have half... give it to someone who has none.....  don't worry, you won't do without".  She's really good like that. As far as HER size.. I've given her enough rope.  I'll do her cooking.. and I'll buy her a membership to the gym.. she can even have my trainer, and I will FIND a way to pay for it,  but I won't let her go down without a fight.  She carries way too weight and I've been fighting her for years on this.  The difference is.. NOW I'M SHOWING her it can be done without pain and discomfort.

So congrats on your scale-and-undies-victory and off course being able to zip up easily that size 16

What is your goal? (no ticker so I ask) Did I understand correctly: did you take a year off or so to lose weight?

Hey Carina.. Thanks for the nods!  I started this whole attempt in July.  I started with Nutrisystem for diabetics when I was 311 - 315.  I gained 11 lbs while doing it... so figure I went up to nearly 325.  I ditched the Nutrisystem in August and started to lose.  Figure 25 was off by the end of September but I was always hungry and sick..    so I stopped taking some medication and started doing a kind of modified atkins (so I could get away wtih no insulin) and lost about 75 lbs doing that so far. My first goal is 180.   Let's see, I was 18 when I got with my x-husband and I was 165.  I went up to 180 when I was weight training... so I'll be happy with 180, but if I can get lower.. so be it!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you Lori. Size 16! OFCOURSE. I wonder if you and I are kinda the same in sizes....because I know at around 218 I can fit a 16 as well. OH yea go Lori woot woot! 16 is fabulous! Oh to be a 16 I cant wait I am so jealous of you right now. I am so glad you are back and losing :) Because you are happy. :)  Hot topic...I like that store when I am feeling emoish lmao. I buy like band shirts sometimes but I have so many sides for style. Girly, Diva, Glam, Prissy, Emo, Punk, TomBoy, I am so versatile when it comes to that...but mostly I am the cosmo***** diva glam girl lmao.  But I do love that store!!!!! Sports bra huh...I used to wear one my entire senior year of high school...well I barely wore anything but this one pair of jeans, a pair of sweatpants and hoodie sweatshirts (Rough time in my life) Hey they make saline baby :) If you're into Plastics in the end you can always buy boobs!!!!!!!! So keep working hard, who cares about the sports bra you are probably looking FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scale says 217 right now.. I'll take it.  I'm claimin' it this time and just going to WILL AWAY the fluid gain. I don't MIND plastics.. but I've been there before.  Had a tummy tuck and breast reduction at the same time in 1990 ...  to be honest.. I don't think I could go through that again.  I'm figuring.. at my age.. in this situation.. I really have no one to impress.  Maybe that will change but I'm gonna have to have assurances that pain can be controlled VERY well before I'd do anything like that again. I like the tuff clothes in Hot Topic, but not the punk.  I don't have any "style"..  I used to wear a lot of leather.. jeans.. I used to wear heels, but I don't think I'll be doing that again.  Leather jackets.. fingerless leather gloves.. zippers.  Black catches my eye.. red.. sometimes a deep purple.. other than that I don't do colors. 

SOunds like your style is, Rocker/Biker. :) HOT! lol. You can rock whatever you want! You want heels and leather go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
