I came home from Chicago last night. The week went well, except for my eating habits I was SURE I was gonna gain.  Because I ate a bunch of crap...eh it all tasted damn good lol. So far I have in 51 hours for the week  Iam going into work for a couple of hours here in Michigan because I still have more to get done!  Its gonna start getting even more insane in the next couple of weeks.  But I am ready for it. There is this place up the road from my work in Illinois...walking distance so as soon as it gets warm out I will walk to get my lunch everyday :) They have salads and grilled chicken and you know bad stuff too that tastes wonderful lol. But its dirt cheap for being in Illinois!  Ok so I am sitting at 228 right now. So I am happy because I thought I was gonna gain. This week I am hoping for another 2 pounds or more but I am happy with whatever loss I get. :) Im happy about being in the 220's :)

Absolutely!  Welcome Back!!  You know you indulged, and it didn't get out of hand.. I would say that's an accomplishment!!! Good plan with the place up the road!

It's VERY hard to eat well when traveling, believe me I know.  I've been traveling every other week since January.  It's very easy to convince yourself you aren't doing so badly until you really become accountable and see all those calories.  My SO wants to go to Outback tonight so I went on the website to see if I could formulate something to eat.  I'm sure we all suspect it but were you completely aware that most food they cook is rolled/marinated/soaked in some kind of butter or oil before it's even cooked?  I read that the Aussie fries w/cheddar, bacon and that ranch dip is a whopping 2,900 calories and 182 grams of fat.  That's a freakin' APPETIZER!!!! Be careful of taking that lack of gain for granted though.  Sometimes it takes our bodies a little longer to adjust and suddenly that scale shows a real gain.  It's the same as losing, it's almost like it all comes off at once.   Sounds like you are conscious of what is going on in your life with food now, so I'm happy that you came back unscathed and none the worse for wear!!!!

" most food they cook is rolled/marinated/soaked in some kind of butter or oil " That's what I was trying, not successfully to say to Kriz about meats eating out - they take it to another level by adding god knows what. i found out that a very famous restaurant in our town dredges the steaks in fryer fat before grilling them! Holy ****!

I was surprised to realize that restaurants did that.  I wasn't shocked because I knew there was something they did that I didn't!!!  You just don't get that taste from regular seasonings.  I could not find anything on the Outback menu that was less than 600 calories just for the protein part of it.  Even sauteed mushrooms were 150 calories.  I just will not believe that they do it "special" if I ask for it, so I don't trust them. So we went to the chinese buffet place.  They have a mongolian barbeque there so I just loaded up with fresh vegetables and shrimp and then put a little teriyaki sauce on it and I was good to go.  I ate it on one of those plates, which are not dinner sized but they try to make you think like you are eating more because you load up 5 times, LOL.  So I did good there, no problem.  I really wasn't all that hungry and watching my SO and my son eat all that food kinda made me puke. Fryer fat?? Dear god, no wonder we are all obese.

Yay, Christa! I would try the approach of eating half of whatever you go out for - take the other half home and eat for another meal.  You are set up in an aprtment , right? You should have one then. Bring groceries from home that will last, too like frozen stuff.  if in a hotel, ask for a fridge, even rent one paid for by your company, if needed and keep fresh veggies in it.

Basically my plan is gonna be whatever I eat for lunch I am gonna cut everything in half and eat the rest for dinner. :) Which I will be walking to the place for lunch and walking back...and I have fridge at work if i feel the need to use it...along with appliances there as well it has a freaking kitchen!!! lol. But I am staying in a hotel...So yea. I can just use the fridge at work because the majority of the time I will be working until like 7 at night so I will be living in the office lol.  But yes i am aware of what is being cooked with my food...grease, butter, bull**** lol. I am aware of it all but see the thing is usually when i order bad things I never eat it all anymore...I always eat half or less now days. So I am never too worried about it...even like this weekend with out taking my Pill I still eat the same way now...I have adapted to it all. And I plan on getting more exercise because July is coming up fast and my birthday is coming up in 19 days and the plan is to lose those pesky 8 pounds so I am 220 by April 18th !! i will meet that goal!
