Almost 6 Weeks on WW and down 8.4lbs
I'm not really crying like my little face. Lots of stuff has been happening in my life. Like Mom was hospitalized for 1 week and sick for 2 so I had to do alot of running around and caretaking. I put WW on the back burner after at first being obsessionally accountable for every morsal I put in my mouth - even if I was overeating/snacking. Now I am slacking. I'm eating healthy as usual and throwing in some deadly sweets. This is getting better. I'm just trying to be kind to myself.
The other major thing is I've been feeling like crap, just exhausted and dragging around. After a full physical 3 weeks ago, my labs and everything were beautiful except my iron levels. I've had an issue with low iron since I could remember but this time the levels were ridiculous. I've had 2 iron infusions so far with 3 more scheduled and then new blood draws to see where I'm at. My doc has claimed for years that my anemia has been causing a sluggish metabolism. He advised me not to concentrate on "my weight" right now - we'll figure out what to do later.
So I packed on 30lbs and have lost 8.4. That makes me feel like - "big deal, you are still not nearly where you came from, where you were feeling awesome". But I'll take the 8.4 and work on more. I can't wait until I am feeling full energy to exercise more.
Hope you all are well.
Best,
Leila
Well, you sound like you are on the road! Staying on track is rather challenging when life throws curveballs like your mom's illness! You can do it, it takes more energy to plan and think ahead.
I too have iron issues. Most recently, I had a gyn procdure to stop very heavy periods and now? my levels are like other people's! I cannot believe it. My iron was so low before that procedure that i could not donate blood.
Keep on keeping on!
Hey Neecee!
How are ya?
Thanks for your reply. We can both achieve our healthy goals!!!
You know what is funny about my low -iron condiditon - I have a very reg. pd 4-5 days max - not heavy at all. I have always eaten fairly healthy. I think a huge problem is my meat intake. I've dwindled eating meat to barely none and I am not purposely trying to be a vegetarian so I am not balancing my diet that way. Lately I've really gotten repulsed by meat - the smell, it has eyes, disease, antibiotics, slaughtering. I know it's crazy to think that way, but I can't stop myself. Even more funny is that I've watched a program called "Big Fish" and now I'm freaked out about that. I can't comprehend killing those fish. I'm getting crazier with age.
Much Love, Peace, Harmony, & Health,
Leila
Hey Leila,
Sounds like you got a few things going on other than weight loss. Don't ya hate it when life throws ya out of whack. Sounds like you know what your doing though, just keep doing it! I hope all your problems with your iron gets taken care of. That has to be annoying! Get some rest and get that iron in ya. :)
I know what you mean about the meat issue. I've never gone as far as you, but when I think of who I'm eating I always have to stop. Here I want to learn how to hunt too, guess I'll have to settle only getting moose meat..I despise moose. lol
Hope all is well with your mom now.
