OMG....10lb!!!!!!!!

Well this morning was my one week weigh in on SB.  I can't believe the scale says I lost 10lb!  (Of course there's a disclaimer here, cause the week before I started I had gained 4.5, so does that mean I can claim them back?  I upped my ticker at that point to reflect it, so I'm taking the 10lb off of it now...DANG!). That not only means I've hit the 260's, but that my total is now 30 pounds!!  I feel like I may have actually found what works for me (afraid to even let those words escape my mouth) and am SOOO excited!  I ate all legal yesterday, but too much and was uncomfortable last night and worried about getting on the scale this morning. Not eating this beautiful fruit salad I made yesterday bothered me much more than the goodies that everyone else brought.  Can't believe how I'm missing my fruit, but one more week and then gonna allow myself one piece of fruit / day. I just fell like the weight of the world has been taken off my shoulders to realize what my problem really is....I just can't have the carbs.  I so pray that I can use this as a lifestyle and shed this weight once and for all.  If only I had done this 40 years ago....but you know what?  I am thrilled that I discovered it all now and can hopefully live a more active life with my grandchildren. I never would have tried SB before coming to these boards (not sure why) and hearing you all talk about insulin resistance etc.  I have learned so much about how my body reacts to food from you all (and I'm a nurse!) and will be forever grateful.

That's awesome!! Man you beat me!!  You're losing like a man now! heheheh It really is amazing what those carbs do to us.  I'm thankful that I can lose and not be hungry. That's the best thing about all of this!  I miss a lot of foods but I want the weight off more.  Here's to making it a lifestyle!

Woohoo, congrats woman!  That is fantastic!  This second week has definitely slowed down for me. You know me, weigh myself at least once a day.  Since Thursday I've only lost a pound.  But hey, to me that's great.  Don't want to lose too fast anyway.  I stayed within limits yesterday too, but went over on my milk and fats, which I didn't think was that big since it was a holiday. :)  But wow...good for you!

I go to the doc at nine this morning, so I'll let ya know about it.  I'm really curious how all my tests came out, since I was on WW prior to this.

Go you!!

Anxious to hear your results from MD too....let me know. I don't expect to lose anywhere near that amount next week either....lot of water weight this week (but I'll take it anyway...lol). Hey...as long as you can see that scale moving, we're doing okay!!

Now explain this to me...I know when you start a diet you first lose a lot of water.  BUT, what if you were on one diet, then another program, then move on to another one?  That's what I would like to know.  Like Core, I was on it and moved directly to this one, didn't take a break.  Just something to ponder. :)  I wonder about this all the time.  Heck, if that's the case, I'll switch plans every two weeks! hehe  Well off to the docs I go!

No, I think you're right.  I did take a "break" in between and gained almost 5lb that week before....that's why I'm sure my loss for the first week was so high.  You probably didn't have any water weight included in your loss cause you hadn't been eating that many carbs to begin with.  That's the difference.  I had to have my...."eat everything you're not gonna have again for a while" binge prior to starting....Story of my life!
