I just don't accept it
So, Saturday I stopped in Marshall's just to see might there be an Easter dress for me? There was this pretty one, cocoa brown with robin's egg blue sash and flowers coming from the hem. But there were only two sizes, a 24 and a 14. I was like, Well, sometimes sizes run small, so maybe the 24 would fit. After all, maybe I'm not really "getting" my size. I'm smaller, but maybe...not that much smaller?
I tried it on and oh yeah definitely needed either a 16 or an 18. Still astonishes me....
I did buy 3 exercise tanks and am just amazed that a misses XL is in some cases too big for me.
I know the whole body dysmorphia thing, and I guess I have it going on. I look at my pics and see a difference, yes, but not that much of one.
And then with Easter dinner and most of the family not saying A WORD about my weight loss, except for a cousin who said I looked great and an inlaw that said I looked amazing and asked what I was doing (he's overweight as well). But when 30 people say nothing, you begin to think, Eh, not that noticeable, I guess. But maybe, just maybe they've quieted finally over the topic.

It sounds like you got positive comments. That is great. I hate it when people want to know how much I lost and how much more I want to lose. They just don't always know what to say.
Then we have the relatives who say we shouldn't lose too much or we will get sick....
Keep taking pictures of yourself and put them side-by-side with your before pictures. Then celebrate the size difference! It is something worth celebrating!
I bet it will not be that much longer before a size 14 really will fit you!
I have learned that certain brands run larger than others and I need a smaller size in that brand. Size in clothes and shoes mean nothing! To get a good fit, we always have to try them on.
Congratulations on your success.

When it comes to clothes sizes, they're enough to drive you crazy. I remember the last time I lost a bunch I weighed 218 and actually fit into a size 12 pants from Penney's. I almost died! Clothes manufacturer's cut their clothes so differently and you can wear a size 20 in one brand and a 16 in another....frustrating, but sometimes fun.
As far as your relatives go....don't you think (at least for me) our weight has been such a sensitive subject for so long, that even when it is very evident that we've lost, people are hesitant to remark about it? How come just when you want the world to notice, they finally decide not to comment on your weight? lol
As long as YOU know what you're doing and your results, to heck with what other people notice. As far as the body dysmorphia thing....that will take some time. I can remember when I lost 70lb (about 7 years ago) I would be walking past storefronts and happen to catch a glimpse of myself in a window and think it was someone else. Oh, to have those days back again...I'll get there....and you're definitely on your way!!
