Question here...Bear with me, Iam sure its been asked alot...
Ok, so if thisdrives ya nuts... sorry...lol Ummm, if anyone can answer this, or send me a link to an older post would be great
The basic differences between Atkins and South Beach....From what I've gathered on the web, it looks like SB allows more fruit, and doesn't like the "full" fat stuff like sour creme as Atkins does? Iam sure there are more differences, just would like your opinions before I get a book.
Thanks, oh and have a great Easter
Hi Gael, I wouldn't spend a whole lot on the book. you can get most of your information online. The premise of South Beach is low carb/low fat. Frankly it's nothing like Atkins although some people like to put the two together. I think it's the low carb thing that they have in common. Atkins is actually high fat, so totally different then South Beach.
I could never consume butter and high fat sour cream or all that cheese. My stomach would totally rebel.
good luck in whatever you choose.
Thanks Donnamarie,
I subscribed to an online low carb site, and they cover alot of the plans, give shopping lists, recipes ect...I'm kinda in between the 2 plans cause I can't hack the lo fat cheeses, but do like the cottage cheese and s.creme(lo fat). Iam excited about not having to stress over weighing foods, and don't "volume" eat, so portion size isn't an issue (snacking is my issue). Also, in a pinch I want to be able to have the frozen SB meals.....I figure a month of mixing it up, see what happens, will adjust it if need be. Iam not in a race. I can always come here and whine eh?
