Yet another reason for me to lose weight!
I know, dude! Let me say this: my PCP told me that docs are now treating at the 140's level - years ago, they did not treat until the numbers were more like 160/100+.
Why - they realized over time there was a definable risk at the lower numbers for stroke especially. So - know that docs are more aggressive than years ago. You need that protection - strokes are awful, i swear, i think I'd choose heart attack over a stroke. Just me.
The other thing - asthma meds can cause elevated bp, too. Just your luck.
I even got depressed about it at age 45! Made me feel like an official middel aged woman. But then again, in my family, it is genetic. And, even after losing 40#, mine has not gone down enough to stop meds.
It's okay...be grateful you live in an age where we have meds to help us live better, longer!
