Congratulations on the skinny jeans from me too!! As far as Easter....having the family here after church for brunch.  Found a good recipe for an asparagus and mushroom quiche (I'll do it crustless) online last night with low fat shredded swiss.  Also trying to stay low salt for my mom.  She's doing a coffee cake (which I can resist) and I think I'll do a fresh veggie tray to snack on.  Not making a big deal about the food for a change....focusing on the little ones and Easter and family being together instead.  (Believe me, I would usually put on a spread like you wouldn't believe...love to entertain...but food is only fuel this year). The chocolate bunnies, Cadbury eggs and jelly beans are still locked in my SO's truck....won't do the Easter baskets till Sunday morning so I'm not tempted.  That's my plan!!

Congratulations on the skinny jeans, too.  You will look fantastic no matter what you decide to wear.  If I was smaller than you are, I would gladly share clothes with you. I am glad you are covered as far as what is available to eat at your family gathering.   I have gathered several of my winter clothes to pack up.  I hope they will be too big by next fall.  I need to get more closet space! I will be happy when all of my clothes are too big.  Just think of it as a good problem that all of us would like to have. As far as wearing jeans, it is even okay to wear them at many churches.  People can wear anything from jeans to dress up and be fine at our church.  We usually attend the Saturday evening service so we can sleep in on Sunday morning.  It is so much easier to get the boys ready for church in the evening than it is to do it for a morning service. Of course, our church will also have a sunrise service for Easter.  But we will not be there. No matter the age, our sons still like having Easter baskets.  We just put different things in them as they get older.  We will still hide eggs for them too.  Then they like to take turns hiding the empty eggs from one another. I hope you have a wonderful day.

No family functions at all...DH and I are off to the coast, to a cabin in the redwoods.  So, my challenge will be eating on the road. My plan:  stick to one great yet portion conservative meal daily, and make sure veggies are a large part. There will be lots of hiking and beach walking, so not worried about boredom eating. Sweets, no issue.  Hoppy Easter, y'all.  I will miss my boys, of course, how they love egg hunting.  But an out of town grandpa is here, and he deserves one on one time with them, too. I get them to myslef all year long! EDIT:  I am getting the little boys sandals!  No candy!!!!!

Skinny jeans yay!!! Congrats!! Makes you probably want to go and shop doesn't it!! Well Saturday it was my husbands and I anniversary 2 yrs on Tuesday the 18th and we are suppose to go to the Olive Garden and have dinner. And yeah I will probably really blow it there I will eat the breadsticks and salad and thats about all that I will get! But then I think we are going to get out and shop around some. Sunday..We are going to go to church and then do a family cookout. I have mentioned just cooking out..I am not making my kids easter baskets this year..they dont need it and i dont want the leftovers :) I figure between school and whatever easter eggs they find it will be plenty of candy..in some of the eggs..money gets put in them. So hopefully the weekend won't be to bad!! Everyone hang in there and I hope you all have a good Easter!

My boys love to find money in their eggs!  We usually put that in their eggs, and put other creative items in their baskets. We will also fill their baskets at the last moment.  I will snack on carrots.  Sometimes I get Russell Stover sugarfree candy.  But it probably has Splenda in it!  maybe a trip to the health food store will give us some ideas. Now we need to work on helping our younger son with his weight.  He is getting pudgy and is now officially overweight.  He had a poor appetite since 2003 when he had several surgeries on his left foot and then was hospitalized for enterobacteur and stapholo****us aureus.  We could have lost him.  He could have lost his foot.  But fortunately he only lost the tendon transfer.  He did lose his appetite and his growth slowed down considerably. At this point, I think we can start having the same menu for the entire family now.  If they don't like the low carbohydrate and low fat foods, they can wait until the next meal.  We need to slow down on the fatty snacks they love so much too.  It looks like the helathier foods wil become a family affair in our home.
