Planning your way through the holiday

Whatever you celebrate (or don't), I thought it would be good to share how we're going to get through the holiday. I will be having dinner at my cousin's.  There's usually plenty of meats, so I know I won't need to worry about not having what I need.  There will likely be lamb, ham, deviled eggs, antipasto, salad, veggies, so I can get through that well. There will also be a ton of sweets, so I'm thinking of making a no sugar cheesecake.  Thinking of also bringing the cauliflower casserole I shared here (and no, pic and recipe was not mine), that way there's even more for me to choose from.... My real problem is what to wear!  No time to shop, LOL.  (News for today--got into my skinny jeans, yeah!)

I've never gone to church....I'm not into that...so yea. But, see I know Easter is the whole religious thingy..my family never celebrated it that way...maybe some of you think its bad but eh...everyone has their own beliefs :)  When we were kids my parents would hide plastic eggs all around the house so in the morning myself and my younger brothers would race around finding them. They had candy and coins in them we also had baskets sitting on the banaster. But see here...I cheated! LMAO My family and I talk about it all of the time. I would get up at 3am and sneak around and scope out where the eggs were hidden....then in the morning I would already know where to grab them!!!!!! HAHAHA. That was bad of me....we all laugh about it now. Anyways...so Saturday I am booked with Hair Appointments since everyone is freaking out thinking since I am gonna be in Chicago they will never have their hair done lmao...geesh I will be in Michigan EVERY weekend and 2 weeks out of the month! Then I need to come in to work to make sure everything is set together for Monday...then probably go out to dinner... Sunday, I will be packing....making sure my cat has enough essentials for my boyfriend to take of him! Laundry...then I will probably go to my parents and have dinner. I am not sure what we are having...I HATE ham...ew. I only eat ham in like omelettes....I wonder what my parents are cooking...Either...Ham, BBQ Chicken, or BBQ Ribs. That is my guess! I wont eat much of it. Probably some pie...I love pie...I would take pie over cake any day! I will probably walk my dog after dinner to work just a tad off and make the dog happy. Then who knows..... Jerz congrats on the skinny jeans!!!! :)

Too funny, scoping out the location of the eggs.  BAD GIRL!  Thx on the skinny jeans.  Once these are loose, I will have to buy new clothes.  I'm officially in the clothes I had bought when I lost on a diet 5 years ago, but much of that stuff is heading to big, so..... Will be weird to go shopping.  I'm used to reaching to the back of the rack for the 24s, now to reach for a 14/16.  I just can't accept that in my head....

slightly off topic from the actual post, but i can still remember being in absolute awe when I fit into 14's.  i know i cried about it, it was one of the most amazing moments of my weight-loss journey.  i'm not sure why...i guess because i had worn size 14's when i was just starting college, and i remember being really self conscious about it and thinking they were sooo big...and then i just let myself go so far beyond that (my biggest size was 26/28), so getting back to that point and realizing i had control again was an incredibly grounding moment for me.   as for what to eat for the holidays...my parents and little brother are coming in, i already told them i'm not cooking (i can only imagine what i'd do to a holiday ham...it would not be pretty), so I think we're going to go out to brunch on sunday.  i am planning on ham, eggs, and some kind of whole-grain toast.  and of course-pineapple!!  :)   One last off topic item-does anyone use google pedometer to plan or track their jogging/walking trails?  I just started doing this in anticipation of good weather and am soo excited about some new running tracks i've planned!  I have a 10-mile jog as a goal by my 28th birthday (august 3rd).  I could probably do 10 miles now, but wouldn't be very comfortable doing it.  I stay in the 5-7 mile range currently, so I need to start pushing myself out of my comfort zone if I'm going to reach 10 miles by my birthday-also!!!  Sorry, this is soo off topic and I hope everyone doesn't hate me for this....but I'm defending my masters on august 1st!!!!  So I have lots to do between now and then both mentally and physically.

First congrats on the jeans, that's so cool!  I've been thinking about Easter and how I'm going to plan it.  My son is getting pretty serious with his girlfriend and her family wants him over for Easter dinner and go to church with them.  I'm happy for him though, its his best friend from high school ( I always thought they would make a cute couple), so I'm okay with it.  I talked to my mom and we have decided to just have ham sandwiches!  I bought some olives (which I won't eat), and I'm going to make some deviled eggs SB style so I can munch on those through out the day.  Other than that I'm going to try to make the oopsie recipe (think laughing cow will work with this instead of cream cheeese?) and use it as bread for my ham sandwich.  I'll probably make some fresh green beans also.  It's going to be a fun and relaxing day.  Think we'll head downtown to the park where there is a trail by the inlet.  That will be a nice outing for the littler kids, and get some walking in too!

laughing cow in an oopsie?  I'm cringing at the taste--predisposed to hate Laughing Cow.  Yuck, can't stand the stuff.  Not sure what's in it, but lacking fat, I think it won't taste good.  Try the true recipe before experimenting would be my advice.

I don't think I can have cream cheese yet. :(  It says only cream cheese substitutes.  Hmmm, gonna have to figure this one out.

I don't know squat about SB.  Just Atkins.  I've heard it can be done with cottage cheese....

That would work!  I can have cottage cheese. Maybe I'll give it a trial run.  Do you happen to remember how much cottage cheese it was, or just the 3 oz??
