I about made the gals at TOPS faint!! lol
I went to TOPS tonight. My official weekly weigh in was down 5 3/4 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sooo doing something right. As Lori says, "Keep doin' the do."
Down 36 pounds now but I am even astounded at this weeks weight loss.
BTW, another WOW moment as well. Went to Wal-Mart and had to go from one end to the other for all my needs as well as up and down and around and around. I didn't have to push a cart to walk, my hips didn't hurt, my feet didn't hurt, and my mom was yelling at me to wait up. It felt so good to be walking so fast and so "light" on my feet. It was def a high.

Bren, I can tell you about our group but each group varies a little not because of rules or anything but because each group runs the basic meeting according to their needs kind of like WW does I would assume.
Our group has weigh in from 6-7:00 pm giving everyone a chance to get there. At 7 the meeting is called to order and the leader brings info to give and share with us. We take time to read and discuss it and give suggestions and ideas to each other. We offer support when needed and celebrate when someone achieves something or has a WOW moment. We also say if we gained or lost for the week and the one who lost the most wins $1 (for now since we have a small group). She is labeled "Best Loser" for the week.
If you lose for 4 weeks in a row, the first time you get a bracelet and every four consecutive weeks after that with a loss, you win a charm to go on the bracelet.
Now, if we gain, we get fined. 5 cents for 1/4 pound, 10 cents for 1/2 pound, 15 cents for 3/4 and 25 cents for a pound.
We pay $25 for a yearly fee and then $3 month to help pay for building rental and bracelets/charms, etc.
As far as diet plan goes, their preferred diet is based on the exchange system and low fat eating. Thing is that while it is their preferred plan, they do not require it. I am probably polar opposite of their plan actually because I focus on proteins and they focus on carbs. I still enjoy it tho because they don't hold that against me and encourage me to keep going. It's really cool that they accept the "Do what's working for you" idea while still saying if you find it quits working or you need help or advice, we're here.
It's really a lot like OH to me because it is a lot of comraderie with people who fighting the same battle as you are. I really enjoy it. It's alot of fun.
There is a website for TOPS: http:www.tops.org
Hope this helps some.

To ME.. that's the best high of all.... NOT having to use a cart to get around. ... not being too much in pain or too tired to do the whole super Wally world. Grabbing the broccoli then realizing I need shampoo then remembering I forgot the celery and just going back and forth.. Cool.. isn't it?
That was a significant loss this week and you have every right to feel good about yourself for keepin' on keepin' on.
Simply MOVELOUS DOLING... simply MOVELOUS!!!

Beth....that's so cool to continue with such great losses!! You do whatever's working for ya, gal. I certainly hope that I start to notice a difference with my knee as the weight comes off too. That probably feels as good (if not better) than the loss.
Keep up the good work!!
You've done so well! Kudos! Very happy for you.
(I don't agree with their fining for weight gain though, as most people will have weight fluctuations. It's not going to consistently be about going down, down, down. IMO, this approach of their's reinforces typical dieting that eats away muscle. Rasberry to the program for doing such.)
