Starving.....

Well, today is day four of South Beach Phase 1....haven't gone off course once! Today I was out with my mom and stopped at Wendy's to take home for lunch.  I had checked out the "acceptable choices" for SB at Wendy's and on there was listed small chili and side salad.  Well, when I got home I checked it out on Daily Plate and it was 26g carb.  It also tasted a little sweet to me (maybe my imagination). I have been STARVING ever since!  Have had some extra protein (1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese, 2 light LC cheese wedges, 8oz FF milk and 2 slices turkey bacon)....all allowable. Not eating dinner till 7:30 when SO gets home, but feeling shaky and anxious and weird.  This is the point where I would usually grab something high carb (cookie, banana, etc) figuring my blood sugar was low. Holly, I remember you having similar symptoms earlier in the week....maybe it's a day four phenomenon?   LOL Anyway....gonna hang in there and not give in to these urges.  Just wondering if the chili did it.

Possibly, I still wonder if that list isn't for phase two.  Haven't looked really good at it though.  Well hmm, to me it would have filled me up and then knocked me down.  Did you eat more than 1/3 to 1/2 cup that was allowable?  More I'm thinking about it, the more I think it was the chili.  It's heavy and especially if you ate more than allowed.

Hang in there!  Have another milk if you haven't had your two cups, maybe that will help curb your appetite.  Or celery, that has lots of water to it.

If it makes you feel  better the next day I felt a lot better...so hang  tough!

Don't slap me for suggesting it... but maybe something with fat in it will stave off the hungries.. something with a good fat.....   even a tsp of flax seed oil..

Thanks, Lori...wouldn't think of slapping you...LOL. Actually I thought of that too...that' s why I had the turkey bacon...I know not the kind of fat you meant.  I don't have any flax seed oil. I had an extra bottle of water too....hadn't had as much today so far as normal. Anyway the feeling has passed but it panicked me there for a minute.

Actually the website said I could have the whole small chili and the side salad as a meal.  Maybe it was meant for Phase 2 though. I am feeling better....think all that protein finally hit and not hungry anymore. Was a little nervous there for a while, cause those are the feelings I usually convince myself that I need carbs and give into.

I bought Easter candy today for my grandkid's Easter baskets....made my SO lock it out in his truck. Maybe it was an anxiety attack just knowing a chocolate bunny was on the property...LOL!!!

Woohoo I got another sister.  I got two older sisters, no brothers.  I never talk to mine so wooot a sister I can talk too.hehe

I had to go to the store and get something new to eat.  Not sure what the deal is with me, but I can't find things to eat all the sudden, not sure what it is.  But I bought some yogurt, so that will help with some snacks.  I think I'm going to make a quiche tonight and see what happens.  Or make them in little mini ones and put them in cupcake liners.  I want something different for breakfast.  I just found a good recipe and I'm gonna tweak it a little.  I'll let you know if it turns out good or not.

I was searching for quiche recipes to make for Easter brunch....having the whole family over after church.  I found an aparagus quiche I think I can make do....trying to do low salt for my mom too.  Let me know how yours turns out. I find the plain yogurt mixed with a little almond extract, splenda and cinnamon makes a good treat.  Both the ricotta and 1% cottage cheese taste good like that too...microwave it for about 35 seconds just to take the chill off with those.  It's kind of sweet and filling.
