So i was flipping through the channels lastnight and came across the show being on. And I started watching it..and I'm not much of a tv person but the show looked pretty good to where if i can remember that it is on next week I would like to watch it again. Lastnight I laid in bed while my husband was trying to go to sleep and I went to the biggest loser site and I was looking at peoples photos of before and after..and they are just fans tha****ch the show and the show has inspired them to lose weight. And some of the people look great!!! I just worry that I'm not going to be able to tone my arms that maybe they are to far gone. But it kinda gave me a kick in the butt to get going after looking through a lot of photos. If you guys are online just surfing then check it out it made me really want to cry for some of the fans that are losing the weight. We all can do this too!!!

I am always scared my arms wont snap back...so I need to start doing some weight training work on them to build more muscle to see if maybe it will snap back...I am hoping my stomach will snap back a bit because I didnt have like a huge over hanging stomach....but i am scared in all of them I know i will have lose skin here and there but...eh. I am HOPING it will just tighten up lol....but i am gonna go check out the photos on the site. I watch the show every Tuesday!

I have heard that one trick for it to snap back is to lose it slow. And of course you are going to have to work the muscles some. One thing that i was doing and it was really helping my stomach when I lose weight before and you can try this..if you dont already..suck your stomach in when you walk. Doesn't matter where you are at..and it seems to really tighten the muscles. I have to get back in the habit of doing that again cause it seemed to really help. So just an idea! I guess we all kinda have the same fear..thats one reason I decided against a surgery because I didnt want all that lose skin..and i had people on that forum telling me that if thats what i am worried about then i'm not ready for the surgery. and they were right. i guess after we get to where we are wanting to be we will feel better and the loose skin will the be the least of our worries and there will always be something we want different i guess right?

You're right. I know when I finally get to where I want to be I am gonna want to change something else.  I already know of one. lol.  I always suck it in when I get up and walk lol. Same when I am working out like on the tredmill or elliptical... :) I figure it might help.  I wish the weight would just come off right over night lol....BAM gone I am a size 10. lmao. Eh...

haha yeah i wish BAM just like that it would be gone too! I think that is probably all of our dreams. Just doesn't happen that way. One positive way to look at it is what we do to lose weight it will be a life long thing we are only going to learn to put exercise in our life daily and to eat better.  haha i could think of plenty of things that i would like to change after losing weight. I am sure the list would become endless after awhile. But we are the way we are for a reason just have to get healthy now!  Glad you thought of sucking in your stomach already. I am sure it is helping if it feels like its not.

okay girls, hate to burst your bubble, but it won't snap back. when skin is stretched by weight, the fibers are overstretched and there is no way to repair. you might be able to imporve how it looks by building muscle, but its unlikely you can build THAT much muscle. i lost very slowly, did strength training the entire time, and i'm young - all the things they say will protect you from the excess skin. meanwhile 6 plastic surgery marathon events later.... my arms were not heinous and i have seen much worse and probably could have gotten away with it, but they bothered me so i fixed them. where you will have the excess skin does depend on where you carry most of your weight. i never had a major tummy, but it was still worth fixing to me. (i can show you all plastic surgery pics if you are interested in the before/afters).

I hope (I pray) that happens.  But I know when I lost that 100 pounds my kids called me a flyin squirrel because of the flaps on my arms, and the inside of my legs were awful.  I'm dreading seeing all that again..well I'm sort of anxious..but you know what I mean. :)  Andy has a good point, maybe in areas that the person isn't so big at, she can get back to her old shape in that area.  I know my stomach did pretty well.  This makes me really think of how disgusting all of this is.  What were we thinking?  Food has such a control over people, it's really sickening.  Here we lose weight and we will still need to do surgeries, etc.  I keep on thinking, heck I don't know if I'll ever be able to do surgeries because it just sounds so expensive!  What were we thinking!  Sort of reminds me of smoking and everyone knows it will kill, but do they stop..no. It's just really sad. There really needs to be more warnings out there about obesity.  Lol, I was just thinking...here they made it illegal to smoke until the age of 21 because it's bad for us, and it kills.  But then they let us buy a super size meal or eat a gallon of ice cream.  They don't advertise too much for people to realize it.  I know I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out a way to get through to my kids.  The food industry has made it so hard.

I know what you mean, I just asked someone about this a minute ago.  That is one thing that Jerz has done great on.  Her motivation to do so much exercising is saving her from all of this I bet.  Way to go Jerz!! :) I love looking at all the pictures.  I've been there also, and even just like looking at wls sites to see the difference of how peoples lives have changed from  their weight loss.  It is motivational isn't it.  Lol, I even do my really old corny Richard Simmons tape once in a while because he's so motivational, and at the end it shows the people on how much they have lost, you can tell they are so happy, just makes me cry..lol

In my life & the people I have known of, hanging skin depends on so much - not only exercise but genetics, actually. No way can a person lose 100#  plus and not NEED ps to some degree - they may choose to go on without it, and whatever. Exrcise does not help much but muscle tone - skin is another ballgame! It also depends on where you carry extra weight. If in your butt, legs, maybe you might be able to get away with less ps, but in my mind, you will have skin issues to some degree. Just losing my baby fat from pregnancy - and I have always worked out hard, I could use a panni right now, not even to goal.  My DD gained over 100# in pregnancy and her body went back - except her panni - she plans to get ps.
