Just wanted to shout it to the world, As of FRIDAY I will NO LONGER have ANY credit card debt!! YAY!!!!  I started out with a little less than $9k back in November 07 time frame. I'm so happy to get this crap paid off! Now I can sink those monthly payments into my other loans to get them paid off too. Next comes the vehicle and harley loans! Time to pay off the wife's car! I've been trying to sell the harley. I figure I sell it to get out of the loan and then if I ever want another one I can just pay cash for thing. I figure without all those monthly loan payments my savings accounts will grow and paying cash for something will be pretty easy. YAY!!  I'm excited!!  Losing weight, paying off debt, getting more active and it's getting warmer out!

Woohoo! To be out of debt! Nice job. Everything is going wonderful for you I am happy! I have 4 different Credit Cards....WAIT I take that back...I just got a Best Buy one lol. So 5. Lane Bryant Art Van Best Buy Macy's Chase Visa With all of them except Best Buy and Art Van I keep it to 100bux so I can ALWAYS pay it off in one lump sum. I never have interest. Best Buy and Art Van I only use when it involves Same as Cash...no interest. :) So yea..I am never really in Credit Card debt. BUT...I am in debt with my loan from the bank lol.  I am saving up to $2000 for my trip to California when I could easily throw that to lower my debt...but HA nah...I'm 21 I need a trip....  I deserve it. :) But after the trip back to saving to pay for school and my debt lol...unless ya know i hit the lotto! hahaha.

Oh wow, that's great!  I was just thinking last night of how it would feel to be out of debt.  Must feel nice!  I haven't felt that in quite a few years.  You'll have a great summer without the threat of debt over your shoulders.  Your gonna have fun! :)  Hows your weight loss going?  Haven't heard you say anything about it in a while, just your daily plans.  I'm curious on how your doing!

Oh there's plenty more debt to go around! :P  I've got a lil less than $30k between my truck, wife's car and my harley. Then there's the school loans for about $25k.  There's the house but that don't count since that's a necessary evil.  I can't wait to be finally free of debt.  I figure I can be out of debt in the next 2-3 years though so no big deal.  I just gotta make sure I control my urges to buy new stuff! :P Weight loss is coming along.  I thought I had lost 5 lbs the other day but.. alas my eyes were reading the F'in scale wrong again.  I'm down 4lbs since starting Atkins.  Since Friday or Saturday I've been steadily losing. I bought a new belt 3 weeks ago, a size 44. I'm on the third hole now.

Cool, your doing great!  Four pounds is four pounds less from just last week!  I know how hard it is for you, so that is fantastic!

Congrats!!!!!!!!   I'll never know how that feels anymore (having about 300k to contend with), but I sure remember what it felt like when it was possible...   ............ so freeing.. isn't it!

Yes indeed. the thought of paying cash for something is exciting. If Christa wins the lottery I'm sure she'll be willing to give you 300k to pay off your debt, no strings attached. :)

Chris- or anyone for that matter- have you ever heard or maybe even read that book by dave ramsey its called the total money makeover..a woman at work told me about it and its a christian guy and at one time he was a millionaire and he blew all his money cause he didnt invest it or spend it wisely I havent read the book yet but i am wanting to read it..may be something that you could look in to reading or some others on here..just a idea :) Congrats on losing weight also!!!

Yep, I've heard of Dave Ramsey. Actually, I've been employing his concepts to pay off my debt. I haven't read the book but I have a friend at work who has read many of his books and attended seminars. It's so simple it's almost silly but it works!  Save up $1000 for "emergencies", then start with your smallest credit card debt and pay as much as you can and get it paid off. When you get that one paid off then take the money you were spending on it to pay it off and apply it to the next one. Pay it off, apply the money from both of those monthly payments to the next credit card.  Get all your credit cards paid off and then start on your other loans using the same methods. He also suggests that you sell your car and take a hit if you have to but get rid of that debt and buy you a used dependable car that you can pay cash for. For me, I decided to pay off my car loans instead. I did decide to sell my motorcycle though.  Basically you pay off yourself/savings first, pay of credit cards, pay off cars, student loans, and then your house.  You'll want to start with the smallest balances first. As you pay them off you get more and more motivated to keep going. Small steps. It works quite well.

Chris-  We can do it if you do think about it I guess we all get stressed and just don't think clearly!! I did start reading a book that a woman had at work that was telling me about it..And i read the part about saving 1000 for emergencies..and then to list your debt and start with the smallest first. So i guess that is about all thats to it. I think I would still like to get his book/books and read a few of them. It might give me a swift kick in the butt and the motivation to do what he says ya know.  Glad that you have heard of him though and thats what you are doing. You can read peoples testomonies and it really doesn't seem to take them long to get things paid off by doing the steps he talks about.
