Okay, who is doing their exercise????

I love the accountability food post but one thing I have learned is that moving is just as important as getting the food under control.  So what are we doing these days? I go to the gym every day at 6 o'clock.  I go with my son who meets his wrestling buddies there.  It is great incentive to me because I hate letting him down and I am his only way to get there.  I can't tell him to get fit and healthy and then not help him.  So since my new job is 9-5 I don't have the energy to get there after a long day, and then do dinner, etc.  So I figure get it over with in the morning.  So it's every single day and then once on the weekend. I do the elliptical/cross trainer every single day for 45 minutes.  On alternate days I do the weight circuit.  On the weekend I do the cardio and then I take a 60 minute weight lifting class.  So I am there on the average of around 1 1/4 - 2 hours a day, give or take.  So what is everyone doing these days????

Ahhh I skipped Karate today! YOu caught me!  Actually I went to pick up some donated clothes after work and I got stuck in traffic so I ended up getting home with only 15 mins left of karate. Figured it was pointless. I'll make Thursday's class though. Been thinking about picking up mountain biking.

Sustainability. Let me explain: I'm living on 850 calories a day in what's still a pretty big body. When I exercise full out, I get very very dizzy due to low blood volume. Over time, I will be eating more, so it won't be as hard on me. Also, as I hit plateaus later, adding exercise will help me get through that. But the bigger deal is sustainability. I was exercising 7 days a week pre-op. I realized that I would probably do that a while and eventually burn out. So instead, what I do now is walk a lot, stay more generally active, do strength training twice a week and swim on Sundays. That'll naturally increase with better weather, me being smaller, and getting more calories in so I have the energy to spend. I find that most people start gung-ho, then peter out. I am hoping to do it backwards. :)

Monday through Friday (and sometimes Saturday) I do an hour on the treadmill in incline intervals... then usually another 20 minutes on the lifecycle.  On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I do that w/ an hour of weight training. usual stuff at home.. nothing much to speak of but I'll be starting my gardens this weekend and that's usually a good workout.

I ride my stationary bike anywhere from 2.5-7.5 miles an average of 5-7 days a week. How far I go depends on how fast I go, what time of day and how much energy I have that day. I need to get more consistent but I just started steady exercise about 7 weeks ago and honestly, I am still getting used to dedicating time and effort to it. I know I'm slow but at least I am doing it.

6:00 a.m. = 15 minutes asansas + 50 ball crunches + 15 push ups  After work:  DAY ONE of water aerobics!!!!  80 minutes total moving hard in the water.   I got there early and jumped in to do ten minutes of warm ups - water jogging.  Class was one hour, then i did an extra 15 minutes of water flailing.  You guys might call is swimming laps, but i think I must look like I am drowning! I never officially learned to swim, so i am not begging for compliments here! My lap is:    ~25 forward flails, then the come back is ~35 backstroke-like flailing pattern. I need a whole lane to myself I am slappin the water. I did 4 full laps in 15 minutes, no stopping, not fast, but wow was I tired.  No resting except once i had to catch my breath! but i still kicked out my feet while catching up. The plan is to do  Water aerobics M & Wed.  80 minutes + asanas in morning before work Tu, Thu is wogging and floor work, heavy on yoga moves.   Friday wogging. Saturday:  yardwork or rest Sunday big bike ride or something longer and harder
