Are you a binger or a grazer?

I find myself grazing more than binging.   What habits do you have?  What does each mean psychologically?  Does anyone know?  And how can this be addressed? Bren

I'm a binger more than a grazer.  I wish I were a grazer.  I feel that once I've blown it I might as well blow it for the rest of the day.  This obviously is a bad way of thinking. One day of poor choices will sometimes lead to another too.  Double whammy!

I'm a grazer.  But when I was huge, I grazed on waaaay too much food all day long.  Now I eat all day long, but the right foods and very small portions.  My goal for the day is not to raise my blood sugar levels and that seems to work for me. Once I eat anything that raises my sugar level, I'm craving junk for the rest of the day and then it's off to the races...and I'm never a winner when that happens. Mary

What habits do you have?  Grazer more so now. Reminder:  i was a binge purger, for many years so imagine how binging affected me to drive to purge every time i ate - or almost anyway. What does each mean psychologically?  Now, it is easy b/c I have taught and re-taught this concept to myself. In the beginning, it was an adjustment cuz i was ingrained with three squares and no snacks. Does anyone know?  you  guys know more than most people these intimate details of every morsel and food thought i have about food than any group walking in my town or family. And how can this be addressed? for me it was a period of intense group  therapy in OA.  basically, out loud sharing of self-inventory and re-grouping from old ways of thinking to new ways to get better.  Good post!  I worry about becoming a grazer with my basic addictive beahviors, but I figger that when I am not worried is the time that bad things can happen again.
