I just saw the commercial for this show coming on tonight at 8 central time on TLC.  This guy is supposed to be able to teach you about the relationship between your brain and food. I'm not recommending it, I just thought it sounded interesting to watch and see what he has to say. Mary

Hmm, I'll have to either watch it or tape it, thanks for the heads up.  I never watch tv but love these kinds of shows so thanks!

Well now, that was very interesting.  It made a lot of sense, but just a lot different.  It's going to be a five week series, and I'm looking forward to next week about emotional eating.  Hmmm? It's coming on again at 11 o'clock central.  The website is  www.tlc.com/thin    and then you can go to his website.  There are a lot of videos that look interesting but you have to sign in to see them, but that's free.  He says he can motivate you to exercise...we'll see, no?    People think I love to workout because I do so much of it....but I actually hate it.  I could use some motivation! I watched 45 minutes of it. The things he taught tonight will and do def work. I use so many of these skills everyday. They are a huge part of my success. He teaches eating slower, savoring your food, and listening to your body's signals. In my journey so far, I have realize how much food that I said I loved, I have never really tasted. It's crazy. Try it. It sure won't hurt anyone. That's for sure. Beth

This is too funny.  I was going to try eating an Atkins Indulge bar really slow so I could see how it worked.  So I take a bite, and then another and then I thought...oh crap, I forgot to put it down after every bite.  Then when I'm almost done, I thought...oh crap, I forgot to turn off the tv.  So I see what he means.  We have so many distractions we're not aware of, but we're also not aware that we have eaten enough to be full. It definitely is hard to eat THAT slow.  And how does one turn off the tv every time you eat?  This could take a while to get used to. Mary

Very true. My brother called me to say he and his wife are going to try it this week. I told him to let me know how they do. If they stick with it, I think they can definitely do it. Beth

I think it would work wonderfully if you have a commitment to get the four golden rules down pat.  But like I said, eating THAT slow could take a while to get used to.  But it's great if you have a hard time staying on a regimented diet.  Please check back and let us know how they do.   I'm watching it again and I'm wondering what that tapping thing is that he's gonna show next week.  I'm gonna have to go sign in so I can watch the video clips. I watched it too and thought it was definitely interesting....had never seen or heard of him before. Four Golden Rules: 1) When You're Hungry....Eat! 2) Eat What You Want!  (not what you think you should eat) 3) Eat Consciously!....chew each bite 20 times, put down your fork in between bites 4) When You Think You're Full, Stop Eating! I'm trying this morning to do this with this delicious asparagus and mushroom omelet I'm having, but am also watching TV and on the computer at the same time....a no no. It all makes sense...we all eat when we're not hungry.  I'm anxious to see what he does with the exercise motivation.  That's what I need!!

But ya know...some of us chubbettes and chubbers don't know when that 4th step happens! It is really hard for me, anyway! I am going to put those on my profile so i can refer back.

I Watched Paul McKenna last night on TLC. He was so inspriring!! I started using his techniques and I feel very positive that this will help me!! I wondered if there was a site where I could go over the four rules he mentioned. I would greatly appreciate it! Also- will there be a site where he goes over all that he said in the previous shows?? Let me know!                             Thanks,                                      Suzanne
