Hi Guys and Gals Just to let everyone know that is doing Atkins and South Beach,  I am just about three years post GBS and I do struggle with pounds that could creep back on if I am not careful.  I have been following South Beach for the last two years successfully and happily and have maintained well.  I eat out and home and yes I slip some but over all I am able to really satisfy and feel good on this plan.  Mainly,  I am healthy.  Just thought I would let you know and wish you well. Just wanted to add that the nice thing about this is it has truly just turned into a lifestyle....It is the way I eat...I do not even think about it any more....I think this is the true success of it.  Blessings.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your success story!! I am starting SB on Monday.  It seems like a very healthy liveable approach and one that I believe I can have long term success with.  I am excited about it and it is always nice to hear someone who has "walked the walk" and been successful.  It's very encouraging to hear you say that now it is just a way of life for you.  I hope to get to that point also. Keep up the good work and continue to share your success!!

Hi Matilda, I lost over 110 pounds, and when at my lowest 140 pounds, on south Beach between 2005 and 2006.  i have maintained it now for almost 2 years.  I believe, at least for me, it is one of the most sound programs I can follow.  Studies show that as women get older they require less in the way of carbs and calories.  you can really use the premise of SB to live a healthy lifestyle.   And like you said, it's more about being and really feeling healthy that matters in the end.

Hi Matilda!  Hope that is your real name - love it! Thanks for the message about ongoing food plans. It cannot be said too often that no matter what we choose, is this something we can fall back on for years to come? I LOVE that you don't think about eating anymore - i am almost there! Yes, SB is actually the best way for long term reasonable eating. Atkins has many strengths, but if a person gets in a rut depending on certain easy to make/eat foods, it can be a kiss of death.. i cannot eat canned chicken without almost gagging for example from my Atkins days. I did not vary too much, which i think a lot of people are guilty of! Thank you thank you. Stick around!
