Breakfast: 4 cups coffee with 1/2 tablespoon creamer, 4 packets of equal 2 sausage patties, 3 strips of Oscar Meyer precooked bacon between 2 egg patties. (biscuit style, god this is SO good!) Snack: 2 slices mild cheddar snack cheese (0 carbs, 10g protein) Lunch at Luce: ( http://www.luceristorante.net/) 2 pieces fried calamari with < half a handful of fried zucchini straws 3 slices Carpaccio with a loose 1/2 cup of these leafy things <2 ounces grilled Mediterranean Sea Bass <2 ounces grilled salmon 3 two inch pieces of grilled calamari (these were top side of squid where it makes the cone) 3 grilled jumbo shrimp 3 asparagus stalks Dinner: 3 ounces baked chicken with BBQ seasoning 1 cup onions/squash/bellpepper mix 2 turkey, pepperoni and mild cheddar roll ups. (2 slices turkey, 8 slices pep, .5 oz cheese) Snack: 1.5 tablespoons Skippy All Natural Peanut butter Today was not as easy.  We had a vendor from Dell in today to talk with us about their m1000e blade chassis (those are REALLY nice btw) and of course he treats us to lunch. I'm not gonna pass up fine food! :P  Everyone wanted to go to Luce which is a fine italian restaurant.  I managed to pass up the bread and white beans and only sampled the fried calimari and zucchini straws. Did partake of the beef carpaccio though! Mmm! :P  Ended up having a grilled seafood meal if you can call it that.  I ate more for breakfast than I did for lunch. I realize when I list it out it seems like a lot but it really wasn't.. C'mon..3 stalks of asparagus?? Are you kidding me?  It was very very tasty though.  I didn't have any more snack food to eat after lunch because I ate it beforehand so that I could avoid the PASTA and BREAD at Luce.  Anyway I was reasonably satisifed but did start getting hungry around 4pm. I didn't get home till 6:45 and just ate leftovers. I'm not sure if it was Luce or the unappealing leftovers but I was really struggling tonight. I had a big sweet tooth and I ended up having some peanut butter and that fixed it.  I'm still wanting to eat more and I know I could have it but I'm trying to learn how to eat when I'm hungry. I'm not hungry and I know it. I think it was the long spell without food that put me in this state.  Ahh well. I just gotta do better about bringing enough food to eat at work.  I think I'll do some hard boiled eggs or something next time. I made it through the day though. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I'll be back on schedule and not have to worry about eating out. I'm quite thankful and proud of myself.. I made it through an ITALIAN restaurant and had less than 3g of carbs!

THanks!!  I feel like I broke even yesterday.  Today is going to be better though.  I go to see my bariatric surgeon today. Even though it's gonna cost me $200 friggin bucks I'm excited to go and see him! I'm curious to know what they've figured out with my insurance and whether or not it's REALLY going to be an option for me. Meanwhile, I'm secretly hoping Atkins is the ticket for me and I've found my solution. If the weight doesn't start moving soon then I think I'm probably going to have to start having to actually count carbs.  Ahhh!! nooooo!!!!

It sounds like your first dining out experience on your new eating plan went well. Good luck with your surgeon's appointment.  I hope it goes well and it could be another option for you IF you need it.  Of course, I hope Atkins does the trick and you NEVER have to have surgery.  Just know we're rooting for you. As for counting carbs, you can do that if need be...you know you can.  After surgery I have to count protein and then calories.  I'm sure eventually I will need to count carbs as well.

c'mon..you gotta beat Christa....I am still laughing over her glorious 4 days on Atkins!  You can do this. You really can.  I hope you can go one full month and evaluate its feasibility over time past that!  Just remember, with any food plan, something's gotta give...we cannot eat all we want in whatever amounts.

You can dew it. It will take sheer determination for at least three days to a week to stick on plan.

OH I'm gonna beat Christa! :P  I just hope I start dropping some weight from it.  So far I "feel" a little smaller but the scale doesn't show that. I'm not gaining and other than part of yesterday I'm extremely satisfied eating like this. I think it's going to take me at least a week to figure out how to eat when I'm hungry and not because I want to feel some tightness in my belly.  I'm not overeating to the point I'm stuffed beyond recognition but I am eating slightly past the point of being full. I eat way too fast and I think that may be part of it. Gotta focus on slowing down. I'm not a ravenous dog afterall! This morning I have about a teaspoon of creamer and 1 packet of equal in my coffee.  Working my way towards black!

What were you eating though?  Did you find yourself getting bored? I know last night that's kinda how I felt. I have a lot of good recipes at hand but don't have the ingredients to make them yet.  The wife also doesn't care to spend a lot of time in the kitchen so it's usually something quick and easy for her.  Once I get the ingredients though I plan to spend some time in the kitchen making lots of food and then will probably use leftovers.
