Hey Maria! Significant weight-loss makes pregnancy a huge possibility for those who thought it impossible after trying for years. Go to the pregnancy board here on OH, the people are really wonderful. Believe it or not, you are still young.  It would make sense to get some weight off , get your blood sugar levels under control,  and then try getting pregnant - because then I am sure that you will succeed and not have all of the heartbreak of continually trying with no success.  Do you have PCOS? All the Best to you, Leila

Hey Leila, I hear you.. I have been trying to get this weight off for almost a year, and I blew it in the winter, and now I am paying the price to get back on track. My goal is, and always has been to get at least 20 pounds off (my OBG suggested) before we tried. Well I got the 20 pounds off, but we didn't try, and before you know it, I turned around and there it was again. I am trying to be patient, and doing my best to not let it consume me, but some days are harder than others. I dont have PCOS, I dont' have any health problems, aside form my insulin resistance, which can be controlled through diet. My thyroid is normal, but my doctor has me on meds to see if it they can help my metabolism. I have read about PCOS and overweight women, and fertility problems, but I have never had an irregular pap, I go once a year for my checkups, and my cycle is as predictable as the sun going up and down, so I can rule out any of those issues, but I dont know if there is something more deep rooted going on, like my hubby's sperm, or me. I suppose that would come in time if we were trying for 1 year, I believe at that point they consider you challenged. Thats why I am convinced that this is natures way if saying.. control the insulin so your body will allow you to get pregnant.  I will be 32 this year, so I am not considered high risk, but I also dont want to get to 35, be considered high risk and not be able to concieve, so I am full steam ahead on this journey. Anywhoo... thanks for the words of encouragement.... A girl needs encouragement !!!
