Atkins. Pfft. I liked it....for a whole 4 days! lol. I just started having a hard time with it...I was getting bored or more like it...there are so many choices but I didnt want to cook it...I live a busy life sometimes. I like things that are easy to throw together. Eh. I am going back to what I know works for me...I guess that is what I should always do! If I know it works...STICK WITH IT!  So I will still try to stay low in carbs but not to the extent of under 20g. Probably under 60g is more like it for me.  This weekend I ate stuff I shouldnt of...suprisingly I didn't gain...actually blows my mind but the result is bloaty feeling. Which could also be because it is exactly 1 week before TOM. Which in that case means I am gonna want to eat more food. But my goal this week is to not over do it stay with in plan. I always go off plan in this certain week. Maybe I can conquer it for once. I still feel in control with myself on the food aspect even if I did indulge a bit over the weekend.  I haven't been working out as much as usual. I am going to get my membership this week with the gym in my town and get my friends father to give me a routine workout thing. So since the gym will only be 5 minutes up the road I feel I will go more. Even tho this week is extremely BUSY! I have clients for Hair Today, Tomorrow, Wednesday, & Friday so far. Thursdays are girls night. I still have to fit in the gym, tanning, cleaning my apartment (Im gonna do SPRING cleaning) I just got my new bed that needs to be put into my room and I finally get to make the spare room into a bedroom with my old bed. I have a full plate this week.  Which should make it go by fast and I am never done moving except when I am sleeping so it should keep my mind totally off of food. Look for a big loss this week :) It will be there...well hopefully lol.  Alright, I am done rambling...I need to get back to work and eat my lunch. Salad with bacon, avocado, egg, cucumber, grape tomatoes, & ofcourse a salad mix of iceburg, carrots, red cabbage. oh yummy. And a kiwi fruit on the side...not in the salad.

Yeah, it takes a little prep work and thought.  If I didn't prep my no-starch casseroles, I'd have a hard time like I did years ago.   Good luck with whatever you do.

Yea, I don't have all the time to prep it all. BEcause yes it would be easier. But thanks. I am glad it is working wonders for you!!! :)

I take one day a week to shop and cook so the rest of the week is grab and go.  You can do other stuff grab and go, but it gets boring.

I have weird hmm what do you call it....food tendencies when it comes to left overs. Like say I was to cook something Today...I would only eat it tomorrow and would throw it out. After one day old...it grosses me out sometimes lol. I know I know...WEIRDO! lol. So thats why I never cook too much because it usually will get thrown out...I waste ALOT of food. So things that I can just throw together works for me...like salads....sandwiches...and dinners that I cook only for that meal right then if I have time to cook.  So yea it got boring lol.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.  Programs like Atkins, SB, and even Core take a lot of time to prepare.  I have found that if I don't have things prepared and left in the fridge I will end up only eating veggies all day. ALthough that doesn't sound like a bad thing, but I don't like veggies that much so it would make me mad and still hungry!lol

Do what works for you, regardless.  I'm on my fourth week on Core and I'm still trying to figure out if it's gonna work for me.  I was on Atkins years ago, and like you only lasted about four days.lol  Think you might of beat me though.ha  But I don't think I ever read the book, so Friday night we went to the used book store and got me a copy of it.  I love reading diet program books, lol only books I'll read.  Anyway, my nose has been hurting ever since been in that store.  The book is FULL of dust, my husband had to remove it out of our bedroom for me.  Lol I'm airing it out right now, trying to get that smell out of the book so I can finally look at it.

I think it's good you ventured into Atkins, now you know it's just not for you.  Do whatever works, and good luck!  And hey, you just made me think of spring cleaning...think I'll join you!

Aww that's too bad.  It does take some thought to figure out how to make quick stuff.  The world definitely doesn't cater to a low carb eating plan despite the book talking about lo-carb options out there.  I started Atkins today.  So far so good.  It took my 3 minutes to prepare my lunch today.  I had Herb & Garlic Tuna over 1 cup mixed crisp lettuce with grated parmesan cheese, real bacon bits and spicy ranch dressing. I also had 1 ounce of mild cheddar.  My breakfast took about the same time. I bought some pre-cooked egg patties and also some sausage patties. Warmed them up in the microwave this morning and used the egg like it was bread.  Worked great.  When I get home I have my snack planned. It will be pepperoni slices with provolone cheese mic'd for about 1-2 minutes to make it crispy.  Then off to Karate.  When I get home, dinner will be a herb & garlic pork tenderloin with skillet fried/sauteed fresh asparagus. If I get hungry again, i've got cheese snacks and can always do the yummy pepperoni.  I'm relying on some pre-cooked stuff for breakfast at the moment until I can figure out a way to modify my schedule so I have more time to actually sit down and eat in the mornings. I've got the pre-cooked eggs, bacon, and sausage and I also bought some frozen omelet things.  I have eggbeaters that I can use in my microwave egg poacher thing so that's also fast and convenient.  Plus there's tons of quick recipes in the Atkins book that I can fall back on. I'm thinking of forgoing the computer in the morning and spending that time preparing and eating breakfast.  Just not sure about cooking after I've showered...  Lunch will probably consist of a lot of salads or possibly dinner leftovers.  Wish me luck!  I know the first 2 weeks are going to be hard because my choices are quite very slim! It's only two weeks though.....right???

God! I sat in the house all weekend because it was so cold! I wanted to get outside and dig the flower beds, mow the grass and plant more grass seed.  Instead... I sat in the house bored out of my mind. I went out Sunday because it was somewhat warm but that was only to do some shopping and have a sugar fest. (mmmmm butterfinger blasts! yummy! heheheh) I can't wait for spring to be in full force either. I'm dying to get outside. We got that teaser a couple weeks back and ever since then I've got spring fever.

Good luck, Chris.  I'm sitting here eating my crustless quiche of ham and pepper jack cheese and chives.  I make 1 quiche and 1 "casserole" and 2 veggie dishes and something like chicken salad on the weekend so it's easy to mix and match, grab and go all week.   However, when I first started Atkins, I didn't plan this well, lived on grilled protein and veggies and got bored out of my gored.  Plus the recipes make getting the fat in easy, which is sooo necessary.   Did I email you the recipe link I use?
