Low Carbers Call It A Whoosh

Yesterday, 282.2, today 277.8.  Officially well into the 70s and what I weighed in college 17 years ago. (News, likely working with new trainer and sad over that; also in third place in the Challenge.  THe one I thought was the heaviest( and no, I discovered I was!) has lost 6% bodyfat, another 4 and me 3.  Sucks.)

Achieving college weight....now there's something to celebrate! Why the change in trainer status?  Will that be permanent even after the Challenge?  How much longer does the Challenge last?  You may surprise yourself and still improve your standings.

wOOt!  That is inspiring to get to a landmark weight. Good for you. hey, you went into the challenge knowing your body and its pattern of response, the point is you gave it your all! Be proud and maybe a little validated that your body does not respond like others' bodies even though you are doing all you can.   As for the trainer...either you are way too emotionally invested in him, or he is a bit thick emotionally, but i think this is for the best. Time to move on!

You'll feel a lot better if you compare yourself to yourself, I think. As long as you are doing what you need to for your body, it's all good. Competition's good to keep you moving, but in the end, it's your health that matters. I just hit my college weight too-- but I was quite a bit smaller when I graduated in 1989, so I had a couple more miles to cover!

The Challenge ends in 3 weeks.  I think I had a disadvantage as I am the most muscular.  My bodyfat is that of someone who weighs 70 lbs less!   I expect to fini**** somewhere near 270 and that will be the 50 lb loss marker since July.  The other disadvantage I had is that 2 are so new to working out that their bodies were shocked into significant response.   I thought things were better with Ian, but when I went to schedule with him, he pleaded that he booked my slot--I don't believe him.  He said "A change of pace will be good".  I think he needs a break.  The anticipated winners of the challenge had talked about pooling the prizes so we all could continue to train as a team, so to keep with him a bit, I will join, but compliment it with 1-1 with Karissa because I have needed that.  Having that time to focus on my solo abilities has let me max out.  KWIM? We've trained 2x and she has said she loves training me, for my work ethic, lack of whining, unfathomable strength, and good rapport.  Yeah--I shocked her when I leg pressed 360 yesterday and easily could do 100lbs more, but that was the whole stack.  Men who came after looked at me like I was a freak ; /.  She was so encouraging though--"I am soooo gonna brag about this"--and I have missed that encouraging. I don't know why Ian pulled away from me, and it's devastating to lose your mentor, but I've been told by those who were closest to him, he's pulled away from everyone.  So all I can do as his mentor suggested is protect myself and work on my goals.  I will pray for him, though, cuz I think he needs it.  I hope we work back together down the line. Some may think we got too close or that I'm oddly invested, but many who have trainers have shared the same experiences.  I don't regret bonding with him, just losing my mentor.  As for not comparing myself with others, it's just out of competition to win the prize.  Regardless, I'm wicked proud of myself.  Massive strength, improved cardio, 15lb loss in 5 weeks.  It's a good picture....
