New Plan of Attack

Well, just weighed in at WW.  Last time I was there was 2/23 and I weighed 271.  Today I weighed 270.5.  Now that doesn't seem like much of a difference, but you have to understand what transpired in between!!  I spent 5 days in KY last weekend and came home with a 4-5lb gain.  Actually this past Wednesday morning I weighed 278 on my scales and this morning weighed 271 on my scales. I have decided to return to a "diet" that I was on several years ago where I lost 70lb in 5 months....cutting out totally flour and sugar.  That was very strict with measured amounts of food and no snacking between meals....also way too low fat I think for me to be healthy and be able to stick to it.  So this week (for the past 3 days) I have incorporated parts of that with the Core plan of WW (never tried Core before in all my attempts at WW) and have been VERY pleased with the results.  It is based on a satiety level and eating mainly from the lean meats, good grains, FF dairy and lots of fruits and veggies.  I have decided not to use the optional 35 points of "off list" foods, as these seem to trigger my cravings. I would normally have a WW ice cream bar at night and if I find myself hungry now, will have a handful of berries instead to satisfy the sweet tooth.  I have for once in my life, really paid attention to my body as to "hungry" and "satisfied" levels.  I am gonna continue to give it a try for a couple more weeks and see if it works for me.  I know a lot of the weight loss these past 3 days has just been fluid that was retained from all my poor choices last weekend, but I do feel like I've learned something and have gotten over the worst of the cravings. I guess what I feel best about, is that I'm making really healthy choices, listening to my body and feel like I'm eating to live....not living to eat.  I still don't have the exercise piece in place....but one hurdle at a time.  Will really be interested in seeing how I do on a whole week of this, starting from baseline.  I know I have my 35 points to use if something special comes along or I have the urge to binge if I'm feeling deprived...but don't plan on using those on a regular basis.  Just feel like I need to stay away from the breads, processed foods and sweets to make this work for my body. I have gained a wealth of knowledge from being on these boards and listening to how everyone is different and how their body responds to food.  I don't think I ever thought of it as such an individual process before...."just eat less and exercise more" was usually what was preached.  But we are all so different and you really do need to find the right combination of food that works for you and your system.  I hope this is the answer for me!!

I totally agree. Your post sounds very much like mine in the menu post yesterday. Losing weight is really such an individual thing. My 18 yr old gains weight when she follows my regime while I lost like crazy. She has to eat more like weigh****chers flex while I thing I do more of something resembling a cross between Core and Atkins.  Just keep doing what works for you.  Beth

That's what I have been doing this past week.  I posted pretty much the same thing this time last week. :)  I also am not using my points, feeling like it's justs there to cause disaster more than anything.  If I really want something I'll figure out if it's something I want bad enough and deal with it then.  I just won't use the points on a regular basis.

I'm glad you're liking it!  Sounds like you already know your game plan, go you!
