YUCK!! :P

I just tried an Atkins Advantage chocolate chip granola bar - blech!!  It tasted like wax, sawdust, and a little sugar.  I bought it because I was low on my calorie intake today(go figure!), and I wanted to eat something that was no muss, no fuss - with nutritional value. The only "meal bar" that I like so far is the slimfats(I'm leaving the typo cause its too funny!) one.   Any suggestions?

I can't handle eating those things, I'll eat fifty of them!  They are a VERY bad trigger food for me.

Hmm, I can't think of any on the top of my head.  I know I've eaten SB ones, zone ones, and fiber bars (be careful on the amount of those you eat).  I know theres others but I think those are the main ones I ate other than the bariatric ones.  To me they all taste good.  Lol, can't ya tell they are trigger foods for me! ha

Good luck on finding one you like!

I've given up on bars.  Even AA are too high in sugar.  Most diet bars are still just candy bars.

In all honesty I've never been low on calories for any day! hahahah  If I were that would mean I'm on my game so I would probably eat some cheese if it's later at night and if it's earlier in the day I'd probably eat some fruit along with the cheese.  Although it's a big trigger food for me, my gateway drug, peanut butter (good natural stuff) is another good alternative.  The protein bars, even the atkins ones, are simply energy bars. I haven't found any that actually taste good that aren't loaded with sugar and enriched flours.  My suggestion would be to grab something that ISN'T fit for eating in outer space. :)

LOL slimfats..ha ha ha Yeah, like Holly says most of them only **** me off, too and make me want MORE!  You're going to pay thru the nose if you want the low to no sugar ones. Except for a chosen few, they are not in grocery stores.  Online or bariatric outlets only.

They are simply okay for on the go eating.  Given a choice, real live food is always better. I spend so much time in my car and running all over town that unless I pack a cooler (which could happen), I don't have ready access. A guy at my work does just that - packs a cooler with his point for day eating (saves some for supper),  then eats what he wants when he wants it.

The Vitamin Shoppe occasionally has a good deal on the Oh Yeah! wafers and the Power Crunch bars--- these are the two with the highest protein and lowest carbohydrates per calorie. They're both delicious, and on sale can be about a buck a piece-- which still isn't cheap, but works as a meal replacement. One has more Splenda, the other more sugar, so check the labels if sugars are an issue.

A while back before I was on Core I searched the stores looking for Oh Yeah wafers.  I saw that you eat them pretty much daily and figured they must be good.  I didn't look in any of the health food stores though.  I guess that is like the Vitamin Shoppe??

Thanks!  :) I'll definitely check those out.  This is the 3rd day in a row that I've been significantly below my calorie limit (???)  I'm just starting(again).  I'm shooting for 2500 calories a day for now, and I've been between 1800, and 2000 for  a few days.  I don't want my metabolism to slow down!
