Fresh Fruit... who eats it?

I like to have between 2-3 pieces a day. I eat seasonally- whatever is cheap.

But I have noticed on the "what did you eat today' that not many others eat fresh fruit.

'Fess up! Do you eat it? Why/ why not?

I do!  I LOVE fruit.  I'm just trying to figure out right now if I'm able to eat it.  I keep thinking..fruit didn't make me fat! :)  So I think for a few weeks I'm gonna just limit my grains, and not my fruits.  I usually eat between one to three servings of fruit a day.  I also go for what's in season usually.  I need to start posting my foods later in the evening so I know exactly what I ate instead of what I'm planning on.

Tonight I didn't have bread with my hamburger so I ate mangos, earlier two satsuma oranges, and usually blueberries in my oatmeal!  I also have some black berries in the fridge that I eat one or two if I feel the craving to nibble on something.  That and cherry tomatoes.

Been eying the strawberries in the store.  So expensive right now, but soon!

Yum! I adore mangoes.  The smell of ripe magoes is delicious.

I am a berry fan too- love the lot.  When I can blackberries are a favourite. Strawberries are about $5 a punnet here at the moment- so I have been buying frozen ones for desserts instead.

We are just coming out of stone fruit season.  My apricot tree (which I put in last year) gave us a dozen fruit.

I love fruit.. but it doesn't love me. I used to eat 1/2 c fresh strawberries here and there or use them to make a protein shake because they're like the lowest glycemic index fruit I like, but now I don't eat it at all.  I'd rather continue to control my blood sugar without insulin.

I *WAS* eating fruit but I've found that it stalls my weight loss.  I haven't figured out why but if I have just one piece a day it completely halts it and I just maintain.  At least I know what to do when I get to goal!! I do like fruit though. My favorites are bananas, oranges and peaches.  I also like fuji apples and pears.

I love fruit!  I eat naval oranges all the time -- at least one a day -- and I eat grapes and apples a lot.  When it gets warmer I too will partake in some berries!  Nothing like fresh strawberries!  My favorite is probably fresh pineapple but it's full of sugar! I like mango flavored things but EVERY time I have tried to buy a fresh mango it has been nasty!  It tastes like turpentine.  How do you pick a good mango?

My daily intention is to eat 2 servings, but most days it is more like 1 piece. I LOVE fruit - veggies are harder for me to incorporate.  The only why not is I have to cut calories to lose, and 2 fruit servings is ~200-300 cals - which is about 25% of my day's intake. I guess I feel I can "afford" to eat more veggies - they tend to be far less in calories and accomplish the same goals as fruits (phytochemicals, fiber, etc). Left to my own tendencies, Em, i would *only* eat: fruit, pasta, bread, butter, cheese & milk. All other genres are work to do so!  that's my story!

I love fresh fruit. But currently I just started Induction on the Atkins. So no fruit allowed.

I eat fruit every single day. I am limited in amounts at a sitting by the sugar, but I try to get in a serving or two. For me, low-carb means less white flour, primarily, and less processed stuff. Our bodies were created to eat fruit and vegetables for a reason, I think.  Today I am having a couple strawberries and a handful of blueberries. Occasionally I have half an orange, or mash up some banana in my protein shake. Fruits are yum!

I, too, love fruit. My problem is affording it because I have three daughters who absolutely adore fruit so when it comes into the house, it disappears rapidly and at the prices the store charges it adds up. I tend to buy sale items in bulk and hope it last so you will see on my menu only one type of fruit at a time usually unless I am currently buying apples because while I love them they don't always love me. This morning it was a banana w/ fruit yogurt. LOVE fruit!!!!!
