Sort of bummed...I'm so confused...
Well, another weekend on Core. I'm starting to hate and dread weekends. I had a talk with dh last night about them. Although I know he can't change it much, I have to be the one that changes things. It's just so hard with all the kids home and him being home, and how much we go do things on weekends.
So..for the past two weeks I've done mediocre on Core. During the week it seems like I do alright. Right when it hits about five on Friday night I want to use my allowed 35 flex points on non-core items. Now, this would seem to be alright. Not by me it seems like. First week I only ate nine points and gained two pounds over the weekend. Although I did loose it all, but I'm starting to wonder why this is if the extra points is allowed. Now this weekend I pretty much had a BAD weekend and I used up all my extra points. A three pound gain since Friday. This just frustrates me.
Like I told a few of you I'm literally about ready to crack gaining and losing the same ten pounds. I am quite serious about this. I'm about ready to throw in the towel, I'm SOOO tired of trying different ways. I swore to myself I would never consider a liquid diet again, but I'm almost to that point. But I know if I did, I really don't know if my body could handle it any more. My body has aged so to speak since then. It really took a toll on my body.
My heads spinning, thinking all sorts of things, not making any sense. How long do I give this? Am I going to totally have to cut out all 35 points? Do I have to go on Atkins or SB? I'm getting so confused.. I know I'm fighting with the idea of no grains. I love grains..and I believe in moderation it's healthy. Processed stuff kills me, theres no if's ands or but's there. I've learned that this past two weeks.
Why does it have to be so hard! There's millions out there even on Flex and losing weight. I use flex for two days and I gain. Just like I did on the regular program.
Hi Holly... I do understand your frustrations... the first thing I want to say is "DON'T GIVE UP".
I won't pretend to know a darned thing about WW.... but it seems to me that if you're doing the do just the way it's supposed to be done, and still not losing... there may be some underlying conditions that are inhibiting loss on this way of eating. Thyroid condition? Insulin resistence?
What does your doctor have to say?
My thyroid is fine. I do have insulin resistance though. I have switched docs since I found out. The one I go to now has lost over a hundred pounds himself, and very determined that "his way" is everyones way. It's a vegetarian diet though and I like meat too much for that. :)
I am still having a VERY hard time understanding the whole carb thing with insulin resistance. I have read myself blue in the face about it the past few weeks. Just like how every doctor believes in every diet is their way and the only way. It seems that I'm reading that I can eat grains, but then I turn to other readings and it says the opposite. So I'm a little confused on the whole thing. I just can't see everyone that is insulin dependent not eat any grains. Otherwise we would all know about it..know what I mean??
Guess I'm just a little whiny today.:) I'm sick with a cold and a little pissy at the scale. Just mad I can't seem to grab a hold of anything. It's almost that time of year to do my yearly to make sure diabetes hasn't hit yet. Have been told I'll have it if I'm not careful, they said the numbers are almost there. Both parents have it, and runs in family heavily. So I'm just a little frustrated I haven't done what I told myself I was going to do by that time this year.
So I'm a little lost today to say the least. :)
Holly, all I can say is anytime, whatever diet plan I have ever done, it took WAAAAY more than 2 weeks to see results. Even Atkins, took 2 full weeks to see one pound down - then the third week, lost 2. I think that you need to change your head, mindset - this change is for you...yes, I know when kids are home, it is too hard. It is NOT impossible. Which is why in your case, i would say either WW or Atkins or SB might work - you can eat what your family eats, modified. Liquid diet - don't think so! If you are truly suffering from hunger issues, Atkins really is incredible. All i can say bad about it is, overall, the cravings for grains will be an issue at some point. Took me over 4 weeks to really dread snapping and eating a bag of chips. You can plan to have some low amount of grains after 6 weeks, then go back into induction if you see scale problems!
Hun, just pick a spot and stick to it! For like 6 weeks, no matter what you think of it. After 6 weeks, if you can look YOURSELF in the eye and know that you DID all the plan required and it still did not work, then by all means, switch. 6 weeks, minimum.
I am. :)
I've been on WW for going on four months I think now?? Just core this past two weeks. It just amazes me on how I will eat processed stuff and instantly gain on weekends when I eat it, using my allowed points. But during the week when I stay firm and don't use the points to eat processed stuff or breads the scale either remains or I lose. It's just frustrating. Just trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. I've never noticed this before about processed foods, just always looked at calories.
Good deal! I know for my body with WW, I could not use all my bonus points - and no way did exercise points matter a damn. I had to exercise anyway, but never allow those points to offset my food.
But I could use most of my bonus - like 25 ish or so. And not necessairly on high quality stuff - for me I saved those for booze! LOL I lost, weight too. Just got tired of watching every little bite. It is tiresome!
