Question about my Atkins.

So I stared the Atkins diet today. So far I think I am actually going to make it thru the entire two weeks of this induction thing. I think I am going to like this. Because I like cheese and meat. I can live without potatoes and bread. I'll be ok with out of it. The weekends will probably be the hardest when I go out with my boyfriend to restaurants. But i will eat like salad or order chicken with broccoli or something. Anyways i have actually made like a Menu plan for myself to go by so I know exactly what I am going to eat.
But oh to my question. I like water and I want to drink alot more than I usually do because i know i do not get enough in. I have something called "Wyler's Light" which is basically the same as Crystal Light. No carbs no sugar no caffiene. This is ok right. i mean it is the same as getting in water since it is made out of water? I like flavored water over any plain water! I have this huge like gatorade spots bottle I dont know how many ounces it is but I am almost done with the whole bottle of pink lemonade flavor.

Your flavored water definitely counts toward your liquid/water intake. Just make sure you try to stay away from anything caffeinated because caffeine will dehydrate you. When I have the occasional cup up coffee/tea, I always tell myself I need to drink that much more water that day to make up for it.
I did Atkins many years ago and was able to lose 40lbs. I also enjoyed the food selection. And nowadays it's even easier because so many restaurants offer low-carb choices. I would suggest avoiding going out to eat during the 2 week initiation phase because I know (at least for me) that things like the bread basket or other peoples' loaded mashed potatoes can really really tempt me. Even though it sounds strange, I always liked going to a buffet when I was doing Atkins (not sure if you have Old Country Buffet where you're at) because you can make your own salad creation with all the various fixings they offer (veggies, cheese, bacon bits, eggs, dressing!!), and then there's also plenty of meat choices (baked chicken, roast beef, etc). Just make sure you're prepared to steer clear of the desserts and all the starchy side dishes. Good luck!

Christa, I was talking about this once to my cousin and her friend. We had both been on Atkins and were saying that after a while, when you got all of that sugar out of your system, tha****er in it's pure form would start to taste sweet. Of course, the friend looked at us like we had two heads, but it's true.
I have a hard time drinking that much water, too, so anything to get you to do it is a good thing. Hopefully, once you have been doing Atkins for a while, you'll reach that point where you just don't want to put any unnecessary chemicals in your body. I can't even stand the smell of a diet coke!
