OT!!! Read it tho :)

Ok so I was just offered something...I am not sure if I am gonna do it or not but I am thinking about it. My mother and I are going to talk about it and get some ducks in a row. Ok so my boss called and wants to send me to Chicago for the ENTIRE summer. She would get an apartment for me and what not Basically I would only be paying for my food. I would be there from April - August. This is huge. I am not sure what I am going to do. This is insane. I told my BF about it he is not happy at all...he does not want me to go because he would never see me. I am not sure i am torn apart right now about all of this. But this is like a chance in a lifetime. I dunno...AHH. I will figure it out tho. I just wanted to inform everyone and get some insight and opinions on it. :)

You are so young--take the once in a lifetime opportunities!  If your relationship is strong, you guys can accomodate the situation. It's only a few months.  There are weekends and visits.

Oh, I would NEVER stay for a guy. HA. lol. Mean of me probably but still. I just have to get what I want out of this deal form my boss. Plus it means my mom will have to hire someone else to help in the office while  iam gone and what not so we are going to discuss everything over the next couple of days. Plus the BF will be fine. He'll live. lol

Wow, that is an opportunity.  Jerz is right, take up on the opportunities that you think you'll look back upon.  But, with that said there is a few other things I personally would consider. 

Your apartment now..how much do you value this?  Are you willing to look all over again?  Your kitty, is your boss going to accommodate this for you, alot of apartments don't accept cats.  Or are you willing to leave him with someone while your gone?  Your job,are you going to be thrown into another position when you come back since your going to be gone for so long?  I would assume someone's going to be covering for you?!?!  Your boyfriend, although you say you won't stay for a guy...but the problem is he still exists.  Is it worth losing him for if you know he will never go there to see you?  Sure if it's strong it will survive, but at the same time there is other fish out in the sea, and that goes both ways.  

So these type of things is what I would consider too.

But cool for you for her even asking you! :)  How exciting!

 

My plan is this if I make this decision. They will have to find an apartment that is pet friendly I will not leave without him. My apartment will still be here when I get back...I will still be paying the monthly payment no problem. Rent is free for me in Chicago..boss will pay for it all. My postition will never leave...what I do here is the same exact thing I will be doing in Chicago. Just in a different city on a different computer evrything is the same. I do work here in michigan for illinois stuff.  OH...HUGE UPDATE!!! HUGE! lol My Boss pulled me into her office she has a different idea.

Instead of me living down there. It would go like this. I week there 1 week here 1 week there 1 week here. Basically a back and forth life. Which I don't have a problem with that at all. Except I will be living out of my packing bag lol. So that sounds ALOT better than up and moving. So we will still discuss...looks like this is gonna happen lol.

Well you sound excited, thats a good thing! :)  I must be getting old, one week here, one week there sounds like so much work to me. hehe  But at a time in my life I would have loved it!  My ex husband works up on the slope here in Alaska and he has a shift that's similar.  Although it was killer on our marriage, I think he liked it at the same time.  Heck it's been 16 years and he's still doing it!  Lol, like leading two different lives.  

Looks like you got some thinking to do..that is if she can figure out which way she wants to do it!hehe 

It sounded great until I read about one week in Chicago and then one week here.  Ugh, I would hate that commute.  For me, it would be a 3-hour drive.  How about from your neck of the woods?  Also, how does your kitty travel? Hey, if it sounds like fun then go for it.  Life is short and if it's an offer of a lifetime, why not give it a try?

GOOOO! I need to live my life through YOU!  LOL I would not miss such an opportunity, and it sounds like your work life may be improved by doing this now. You should take up all offers at this time of your life! Sneak the kitty in, but do NOT tell me that cat would stop you. You may decide such a thing, but again, do not tell me!!!!!  God, that sounds awesome.

Don't turn into a skeleton waiting for life... grab life and LIVE it.

What's the worst thing that could happen? It doesn't work out and you end up back home which is exactly where you are now!
