Well if you prayed, it seemed to do the trick.  Though the endo was convinced I had stuff going on, and had even said "there's a medical reason for your weight," every lab report was good.  Insulin was 102 (122 in October), so since 100 is normal, she feels confident I'm fine.  Insulin resistance will resolve itself with further weight loss.  She's stymied why she can't understand my reaction to carbs, but encourages me to keep doing what's working (Atkins).  My A1c was 5.9 (6 would be a concern, but she feels it's not worth thought considering other stuff).  My cortisol was great, in fact really low, so I don't have Cushings.  My thyroid, though one number had concerned her from October proves to be 100% normal.  I'm normal, normal, normal.  At least medically.  Doesn't explain symptoms of low thyroid I do have (hair loss, cold, skin texture, etc.), but the IR explains the difficutly with weight loss.... Slightly elevated testosterone, so can take a pill if I choose, but otherwise result was "keep doing what you're doing...IR will resolve itself from that...no cause for concern...oh, and you're not eating enough calories...."

I bet you were happy to hear all of that.  Congrats!  Now you can breath again. :)

I'll admit I was waiting for these results and I was a tad nervous about it.. I'm happy to see all is well. I can see insulin resistence in 100 fasting..  I'm glad you're doing right by your body knowing what you know.

You've been working out hard.. makes sense the testosterone would be elevated.. and we're not spring chickens anymore.. LOL

Well, deary.. looks like you got the green light to keep doing the do without taking meds which is GREAT.  I'd hate to see some medication throwing a snag in your efforts.

Keep up the GREAT work, girly!!

I'm sure this is a relief off your mind.  Is IR and pre-diabetes the same thing? Brenda

I see them as separate but similar.  PD is high insulin over normal, IR is the overflow of the insulin and the body doesn't know what to do with the excess, complicating weight loss efforts

in my mind, diabetes was one of the top concerns, so whew.... yes, i concur...why ask why...it works.
