L:  Egg subs.with tomato, mushrooms, and barely

S:  ff cottage cheese

D: Lean hamburger with spaghetti sauce over tofu

S:  Baked hominy

I'm really hungry today since I have the blahs today.  I haven't eaten dinner yet, but this is how I'm planning my night.  I'm starting to crave those evil lil starches again.  Can't wait until it goes away!  Hoping the baked hominy tonight will cure my craving.

Holly, I would love the recipe for the baked hominy. It sounds great. B: 1 pkg instant peaches 'n cream oatmeal L: 1c lettuce salad w/ salad spritzer, 1c turkey chili, 1 oz colby cheese D: 1 bratwurst, 1/2c cottage cheese, 2c romaine w/ 1/4c shredded cheddar, salad spritzer S: 1/2 bradburn apple, 1 tbsp natural peanut butter I am going to go to a TOPS meeting tomorrow night with a friend. It is a portion of cost of WW. I used to attend years ago with my mom. I was like 12. I'm going to see how it goes for a while. I know I am losing quickly right now but I also know that won't last forever. I also know I have tremendous support here on this board but I think having local support and being accountable to the scale will be highly important in this journey as well. I hope it works to my benefit.

I've actually never made it before.  I started making it tonight and realized I only had white hominy, and didn't have two ingrediants so I decided not to make it.  I ended up doing something else with it.  I rinsed the hominy, then sprayed it with butter spray.  Put some seasoning salt and garlic powder on it and baked it until it was a little crispy.  It wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. Sort of a nice change from popcorn, and it didn't take much since it's so filling.  I probably won't make it again unless I'm desperate and have the munchies.  My seven year old LOVES the stuff.  That kid loves any kind of weird food or healthy food.  She's not a normal child, who asks for a can of corn or pineapple chunks for dessert?? hehe

Here is the recipe I was going to make.  If you make it let me know what you think of it, as I didn't get to try it.  I got it off the WW site.

Chili popcorn (hominy)

½  c. canned yellow hominy

1 tsp chili powder

1/8 tsp salt

1/8 tsp ground cumin

1 serving butter flavor cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine hominy, chili powder, cumin and salt in a small bowl and stir well to coat. Spread in a single layer on a nonstick baking sheet. Lightly coat hominy with cooking spray. Bake until hominy is lightly toasted, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes.
